So I've been digging deep online for a good ffs surgeon on this side of the globe but I really haven't had much luck in finding a surgeon in countries I'd like to get it done, like I am trying to avoid going to Thailand if possible and I'm thinking more along the lines of Australia, south Korea or Japan, because I know that facial plastic surgery is almost a cultural thing in south Korea now days lol, so I think that would be a great place to have surgery and Japan seems rather into plastic surgery too but I've only found out about a doctor named Dr Andrew Ives in Melbourne Australia that apparently offers ffs and srs, but other then that I have no other leeds.
So here I am, I've came to beg n grovel. Has anyone had ffs in any of these countries? or does anyone know of any doctors in these countries that does ffs?
Thank-you scorpions...

I hear good things about Andrew.

Thats good to hear because, I haven't been able to find much information about him, like cost and before n after examples.

Maybe I should check on YouTube.

:( no MTF videos on YouTube just FTM videos :(

If any one can point me in the right direction for Dr Andrew Ives's FFS work that would be a massive help.

I emailed Andrew Ives' office about FFS and got the reply that he doesn't do FFS.  He does cosmetic surgery but not feminisation it seems.  His website sets out the procedures he does offer. It refers to "gender surgery" but this seems to only be GRS.  However, given the replies above, your best approach is to contact his office direct and ask your questions.  At least the answer won't have passed through multiple internet hands.

Ian Carlisle in Melbourne does FFS.  Your primary care doctor will give you a referral if you want his opinion (mine did). He has no internet presence that I have found.

After all my chasing around, I ended up in Mexico a month ago.  I wouldn't have missed the experience for anything.  PM me if you want to know more.

You are going to be best off contacting Andy Ives directly, as he suffers from the same issue all Australian docs do - they are not supposed to advertise. Makes it kinda hard to promote ones work.

I guess I'll have to ask around n see what I can find out from them,it would be a bit sucky if they can't show me any examples of their work tho. :-\

That's a very interesting point and I had a quick look into it.

I found this regarding advertising, and it looks like they can advertise with some limitations. No testimonials being one.

http://www.medicalboard.gov.au/Codes-Guidelines-Policies/Guidelines-for-advertising-regulated-health-services.aspx

When I searched using google for "breast augmentation Sydney", without the quotes,  I found a large number of Sydney websites offering BA, before and after pictures, and pretty much everything you'd expect. Not much different to what you'd see overseas for SRS surgeons.

An interesting example of something that may contravene national law is advertising that

encourages a person to improve their physical appearance together with the use of phrases such as 'don't delay', 'achieve the look you want' and 'looking better and feeling more confident'

And yet I came across this on one of the Sydney sites I found "Breast Surgery No matter what your size and shape, we can give you the look you've always wanted."

That does't sound like its allowed, but there is is.

Dr Ives site is pretty restrained, but I don't think its much to do with advertising rules. I've no idea why either. Perhaps he's not really into the business side of things.

Just had a look myself, and it seems they've relaxed things a little since my days as a med student at Melbourne Uni..

Andy doesn't do FFS. He does great boobs, so I'm told.

He is doing my GCS in 6 weeks. I know him from professional contact so I'm biased.

He is very pleasant, concerned and caring. I've never heard a bad report from his GCS.

From the number of girls I know who are going to or have been to him he has no reason to advertise

Well, yes, that's a nice way of looking at it. The merciless capitalist might think that it means the price is too low. If he's doing so well without even trying then perhaps he could do some aggressive marketing and a make a big price increase. What about increasing the price by $10K each, 100 times per year, minus advertising costs? That's got to be close to an extra $1M a year to take home, all without doing any more work or doing it any differently. His patient's would be all happy, knowing they got the worlds greatest surgeon. The ones that could afford it anyway.

The business point of view is to maximize profits, not be a nice guy. I suspect he's the nice guy type, which would be fortunate for all his patients.

OFF TOPIC. SORRY.

Maybe that is the answer?

I know all of the leading psychiatrists and endos who look after TG people in ANZ, and, against community opinion, they could all increase their profit by charging more than or even charging market rate; the majority don't. The majority in ANZ do a lot of pro-bono or subsidise their clients. I was dumb enough to ask why?

I was met by incredulity. Because the majority of our clients can't afford the standard fee and we won't let them suffer. We know what GD is.

Given a waiting list of 9 months in Adelaide to see a therapist, going as a private psych would generate a far old income.

Not that the majority of the community ever give them any credit for it. We are a selfish lot.

Sorry, my cynical Christmas hat is on
