I've tried quite a few different things, but nothing seems to help.  I'm in the same boat as you, with 4 sessions in.  I have two spots on my chin and a patch on my upper lip that still has a shadow no matter what I try to do to conceal it.  It's super smooth, but the shadow is still there.  Just going to take some patience, because that is definitely what is preventing me from going full-time, although I think I might just be a bearded lady for a few months because these guy clothes have got to go...

I'm assuming you tried the concealer underneath a decent foundation with appropriate coverage?  A pretty common trick a lot of fair skinned TS, CD, DQs use is to apply a thin covering of red or orangey lipstick over the beard area to cancel the bluish tint of beard shadow.  I don't wear full face makeup too often anymore, but it's always worked pretty well for me and I have a pretty dark shadow.

I have a shockingly bad shadow, despite ongoing hair removal treatment. But this works:

* Blend red lipstick right into the shadowed areas.

* Decent foundation on the non-shadowed areas (I'm a sworn Revlon devotee)

* Apply foundation a bit thicker to the red lipstick areas, blend the edges into the already applied foundation.

* If you still have shadow (which I do at this point), blend a little more red lipstick into the foundation covering those places.

* Touch up the redness again with a little more foundation.

It's all about counteracting the blue of a shadow, with red. The two cancel each other out :~)

Ta daa! When I started out, makeup would take me 45 minutes. Now it takes 10 :~)

Nothing seems to beat Dermablend cover creme so far for me, it is easy to apply and is very good at covering it.

Ever used a Kryolan TV Paintstick?  At about half the price for a product that lasts longer, with several times the number of shades, it might be worth looking into.  I noticed in another post that you're not exactly fond of forking out ~$40 for the Dermablend.

I would normally use color correctors - I believe Bobbi Brown has one and layer it with a full coverage foundation i.e. Estee Lauder Double Wear foundation.
I havent tried the red lipstick technique but I heard it really works.

I dont have a lot of facial hair and normally a normal coverage concealer helps to conceal if I feel the bluish color is showing up.

havent tried concealer then foundation i always did it the other way around
the lipstick trick always leaves my face looking the same color of the lipstick and it just looks awful : c

Alysin, lol, first few months full-time I was wandering around with a tomato head.

It's definitely an art form and a bit trial and error ... but it's magic if you get it right. Until I lose my pirate beard I swear by it :~s

I always did concealer then foundation then BB cream. Now a days I can get away with just shaving if I'm not really trying to impress some one and nothing visible really but that's after 7 laser sessions. Still kinda annoyed I have laser sessions I paid for in NYC that I can't use because I moved.

I've been experimenting with this issue and I've found that a light orange works much better than any shade of red.  It still counteracts the bluish undertones of the beard shadow, and it's easier to cover with makeup than red.

Here's my current regimen, and it buys me most of a day before the mustache starts showing up (and I have a VERY thick beard).

1 - Shave very well

2 - Apply light orange lipstick to entire beard area as lightly as you can get away with.  I need more of it over the mustache area.  Set with powder, then wait a couple minutes for it to dry.

3 - I use a foundation stick next to cover the beard area and I blend it into the skin around the edges.  The goal of this layer is to get the beard area to match the rest of my face as closely as possible.  Then set with powder and wait a couple minutes.

4 - Next I use a full coverage liquid foundation and do a bunch of blending.

5 - Eyes, blush, lips, etc.

Unfortunately I have to cake the makeup on more than I'd like, but this is the only way I have found to cover my extremely dark beard shadow.  Dark hair and fair skin is a good combination for laser treatment...but it makes life rough before you can finish laser.

Luna Star

Lipstick trick works for me be sure to go with one that is slightly more red than your skin. And be sure to apply in a room or place with natural light you dont want a red head. After that you can apply powder or foundation and you're done
