I've been planning on getting Top Surgery ever since I started transitioning and I'd like to get it by June of this year but, I'm having a little trouble finding top surgeons in my state.

Colorado being the super laid back and liberal state that it is I thought I wouldn't have a problem. I was originally considering Medalie but, the family I know that lives in Ohio are in Cincinnati and that's just way to far away. Not to mention travel expenses.

I'm from Northern Colorado and only live about an hour away from Denver so it would be perfect. I've found a few surgeons who do just regular ol' breast surgery. Are these a liable resource? Would they be able to perform FTM top surgery? If they HAVE done top surgery then how can I see some results before I make a decision?

Has anyone here ever gotten Top surgery in Colorodo? If so, who would you recommend? How did the surgery go? How's the healing process going? Are you happy with your results?
I've found you, Beast!

I've had top surgery in Denver. I don't know if I can give you there name as I don't know if they are going to start doing top surgery as a frequent item. It ended up costing me more as insurance didn't cover, but considering I have health problems I chose to be in Colorado and pay for a doctor/hospital encase of complications. It was called a breast reduction, so it was 12kish with the night in the hospital to monitor me. I would negotiate a lower price and try to get insurance to cover it under transgender related care (I didn't know that Colorado had trans things in insurance). Although I don't think they usually take insurance. I was their 1st person and I really like the results.

Anyways I will be scheduling a 6 month-ish (7-8 months now) visit soon. If I can get in soon I will try to remember to ask them if I can recommend them.

As for you questions I would get somebody that has experience with reductions and reconstructions. As for results I didn't look at them because I was the first and because of their experience with other surgeries (breast and not breast related). I am happy with the results, but it cost more than I wanted.

I have not seen these people, but they popped up on my search for trans friendly hysterectomy doctors (all of them are plastic surgeons?). Source: http://taylormadison2321.wix.com/forever-trans#!surgeons/c1ljt
Also have you checked out the GIC webpage. They may have some top surgeons listed, but I don't know.

Another good place to get info (if you're not on there already) is the Facebook group FTM Top Surgery FAQ & SNT. Someone just posted within the last week about their surgery with Hartley, and a couple others talked about Murphy.

I was able to find this http://www.ftmtopsurgerydenver.com/ and I really liked the results. So I emailed them and found out surgery is typically around 6 - 8k! Which is really nice because I live about an hour away from Englewood :^)!!!

Thanks for your replies! I would've posted sooner if it weren't for work. His name is listed on Transbucket.com as well but alas no one has posted anything from him. I'm super stoked because now it feels like it's actually gonna happen instead of it feeling so out of reach like it did when I was considering Ohio.

Also, if you like the look of the T anchor technique, Paul Steinwald is setting up a surgery practice in Denver. I went with DI with Garramone but another option can't hurt:
