"SIMON SANTOW: A group in Geelong is working to improve access to medical treatment for young transgender people in regional Australia.

In most cases, transgender people have to travel to capital cities to get regular hormone therapy.

Transgender support groups say that's discriminatory, and specialists say a lack of proper treatment can lead to self-harm or even suicide. "
