Thank you Sonadora, sorry I'm only replying now as I just saw your post....

Just as an update, I've been on Sprio for the past 3 weeks, it's been a minimal dose twice a day.  Last Thursday I had my follow up,  my Spiro dose has been doubled to what would be in the range of a transitioning dose.  Now I've also got injectible Estradiol Valerate.  I went to the pharmacy on Thursday evening, just as I got home.  Well they had to order it in the 50mg-5mL concentration.  Again, I'm on a minimal dose to get my body used to the new levels, but I get to dose half a normal dose every week, so I get less up and down.

So, it came in today while I was out of town at my electrolysis appointment with Jeanette at Layla's.  As soon as I got back to town I went over and picked up my vial and syringes.  A couple hours ago I gave me my first dose...  So, now I've reentered puberty and am correcting a hormone im-ballance.  I'm feeling wonderful.

And so the next chapter of your life begins  :) You are about to experience the most wonderful/intense/emotional roller coaster ride, and you will see *so* many changes in your life happening very quickly. When you get to the place I am you'll look back and wonder how you ever survived living the old way. It took about a month before the E kicked in - one morning I woke up and the sun was shining and the birds were singing and I was glad to be alive and I knew that switch in my brain had been flipped.

I'm excited for you!  :)

If anyone looks to this thread in search of an Inland Empire mtf endo, I would recommend Dr. Hung Nguyen, who is in Riverside

Hi Alana,

Thank you for starting this thread a couple years ago... I am finally ready to start my own journey down the HRT path and am searching for Endocronologists in SoCal/Orange County.   I am really happy to see that Dr. Rettinger also takes my insurance.  :)

I wanted to know how things have been going with Dr. Rettinger?  Any thoughts or things I should I should be asking/thinking about for my first visit?

Of course, I'd certainly be happy to hear from anyone else on any other endocrinologist recommendations in the area.

Hello Trisha,

Dr. Rettinger has been a wonderful.  I just had my 1 year 9 month check up and she's helped me navigate the back-order of my injectible.  I hope you give her a try and let her know I sent you.
Hugs,

Alana

Hi Alana!

So good to hear from you!  I actually looked into Dr. Rettinger and was really interested based off your posts, but she was only available one day a month on my insurance plan and was impossible to schedule anything. :(

I have my first appointment with Dr. Vierregger tomorrow.  Scary, but still very excited!!! Although she is out of network, she came with a good recommendation from my therapist so I'm hopeful.  :)

If Dr. V doesn't work out, I'll definitely keep Dr, Rettinger in mind.  Thank you!!!  Keep us posted!!!
