I've been doing laser since around April last year... 4 treatments were enough to rid my neck and cheeks of any hair, but my chin and upper lip have proved more stubborn.

I've had 6 sessions in total on my chin and upper lip, I have switched over from Alexandrite to YAG, because I was told that its longer wavelength makes it more adequate to kill hair follicles on these areas.
The place I go to has several clinics across the city, but they're essentially part of the same business... I had to go to another part of town because it was where they had a YAG machine. Thing is... I've stopped seeing results. To make matters worse, they don't disclose the settings used to their patients, because "they might get fixated on that number". I went in about a month ago and had it done, but little to no shedding happened... I came back yesterday, showed them the result (or lack of them) and they gave me a touch-up session, on an Alexandrite machine. However, I heard the woman tell the technician to "use a 10"... seriously, I don't get it. Isn't 10 joules on an Alexandrite machine too low to treat upper lip or chin hair? I'm pale with dark hair, probably skin type II...

Sure enough, the spots they used the laser on were swollen and red afterwards, they still are, and around the hair follicles there are little red dots... is this a sign that the treatment was effective? Or would this happen whether the right settings had been used or not?

Starting to feel a little ripped off... I've spent close to 700 euros so far. They won't do electrolysis unless hairs are white or blonde...
