To Oophor Not to Oophorectomize?

Ok, the question has been rolling around my brain for a bit, so I guess it's time to ask.

I am 32 years old and bind/pack part time when I go out. (Depends on who I'm with.) Because of heath issues I can't bind all the time since it hurts my back too much, but I did bind at the family "do" with no notice at all. (I'm pretty small up top.) Bottom wise I have never had a monthly visitor, outside of mood swings which I can't always track to that cycle. This is part of my genetics that forgot to physically put in a uterus. I do have tubes and ovaries.

What (in your opinion) would be needed or reason for me to have an oophorectomy? (Or not to ?)

So you have had a medical workup to know what you have inside for girl parts.  You probably need some kind of medical reason to get them removed with insurance coverage.  Good luck check with your dr.

Do the ovaries cause significant dysphoria?  Are you regretful about the estrogen they produce for your body?  If they produce no problems for you, you might be inclined to just keep them right there where they are.

mm, I had a FULL medical workup as a teen because I have several markers for a couple different genetic disorders (Klippel-Fiel Syndrome and Turner Syndrome) so I had to see a bevy of docs, one of which was a gyno for the ultrasound to see if I had all the (not "my" ew ) equipment designated for my birth sex. After the test was done, I was told of options to expand inside so that should I wish it later I would be able to function as a normal female for sexual intercourse. My answer then was vehemently NO, in part because I didn't want yet MORE surgery and partly because the very idea of it grossed me out.

HeyTrace19, wow... I literally had a sick feeling just now trying to write "my equipment" in relation to the sexual organs... does that count as dysphoric?

LoriLorenz. probably need to talk with your drs about the possibility of getting the offending parts removed.  You will probably need to take a hormone and this could be T.

Thx for the advice. When I'm not dealing with my current issues, I will possibly bring it up to my docs or a recommended who will deal frankly and considerately. (Slightly not wanting to with my regular doc, cause he's Catholic and known me during the "I wanna be a NUN" era  )
