Howdy there!
I'm MTF and have been on hormones for over a year, but I haven't been able to get any blood work done to check my levels. I'm on estradiol daily and an injectible t blocker I take every three months. I finally can afford it, but now I'd like to know:
Would it be better to get my blood work done before my next t blocker injection or after or one, then the other, or what?
Thanks in advance!

I think it would be better to have the blood test shortly before the next injection. If T is too high at that time, it could mean that the injection is not lasting as long as it is supposed to. Since levels may not stabilize for several weeks after a long-term injection, blood testing should be avoided during the first third of the cycle. I have been on similar medication and that is my endocrinologist's perspective.

Never underestimate the power of estradiol or the people who have it.

I think it would be best to ask your doctor what they want done. They have some idea what levels would be normal at a certain point in your med cycle.

The way it goes is that you explain your situation, tell them what you're taking right now and they'll order the  correct tests.

When they get the results they'll discuss it with you.
