Hi Girls, last few days been back playing around with full makeup (light) not just eyes, but face too... however living in outer Sydney in summer means perspiration is a massive problem for me, makes make up (Clinique) look like crap... Any suggestions????

While I have never tried them there are make up settling sprays that are suppose to help with this.

A friend on Facebook recently posted about one so I will see if I can find the post and let you know the name of the product.

Edit:

The product my friend swears by is All Nighter by Urban Decay.

Yup... I perspire a lot too sometimes.. As it can get very hot here, especially when in public transport..  And well I always sweat a lot round my face when I get nervous hehe....

Use a good primer, this'll make the foundation look and last better... Also avoid liquid foundation at all costs, and if you use any make sure it's very thin coats as it'll make you perspire more if it's thicker.... Avoid using powder over it coz it'll make you sweat more too...

Also.. Half the time when you sweat it seems like it's all gone haywire when it aint... Unless you've done the inside or lower part of your eye with liner ... Liquid effect by Max Factor I've found is the one that runs the least....

Hope I helped :)

Defintely don't wear anything you don't *have* to wear in these conditions.

A good primer definitely helps.  For humid days I usualy go for Hourglass Veil (way pricey but I like to indulge in its luxury every now and then) or CoverFx Mattifying Primer.  I was putting a lot of effort into testing every primer I could for a while and these, for me at least, were the best performers for humidity and sweat.

On top of that I'd wear the sheerest foundation you can get away with.  Use concealer sparingly.  Avoid heavy product application especially in areas that sweat a lot of have larger pores.  Both of these will tend to disrupt anything layered on top of them.

You might think that skincare wouldn't be such a concern in high humidity conditions, but if your makeup starts deteriorating it will become especially uneven over areas of dry or unhealthy skin.  In my opinion good skincare is actually the #1 secret to flawless makeup.

I hear ya Katy, its not much better here in Perth :~s

I get heat stressed as soon as it goes over 25C. Let alone 40C.

Tried everything I can with makeup, but none of it helps me stop sweating.

Until I can finally go without makeup, I'll just keep ducking from shadow to shadow. Wish I lived in my native UK :~(

I don't officially recommend this but I've seen people online who have used milk of magnesia to impede the sebum production. I think I might have even tried it for a few days..

What kind of makeup are you using? Perhaps a bb cream would be a good idea during the summer since it also incorporates SPF along with primer, moisturizer, and foundation all in one. I really liked clinique's bb cream a lot

I use mineral makeup when it is hot and humid, seems to be more comfortable.

Bluebird, I'm gonna try some of your tips out, since you look flawless in your pics.

I haven't tried non-liquid foundation before. What do you use?

Remember Milk of Magnesia as a Kid... yuk like drinking chalky water..... But may be brave and just see..... Oh my?

Using just a very thin application of Clinque foundation, not a BB tho... would have to check, I do tend to Moisturise and apply a little Olay all day moisturize SPF30+, hence after that settles trying some makeup.... Will certainly look at BB tho... Taa  :-*

Yay! Thank you hehe

Well usually I get Max Factor Studio Secrets PanStick as its the cheapest I can get that works well with my tone... Really easy to apply too.

BUUUT The absolute best in the world IMHO is Bobbi Brown Long-Wear Even Finish Compact Foundation looks amazing and realy natural... Just a really thin layer and thats it no need for powder or anything... It's what I am using in the last I uploaded :3 .

If you're interested in the rest....

Liner: Max Factor (pencil is too used to figure it out lol.... But it's liquid effect and has a rubbery thing on the other side to spread it for smokey eyes.... Thats the one.)

Mascara: Rimmel Scandal Eyes.

Thats all I use x3

I just go with high quality makeup that is somewhat smudge proof. It usually works out in the hot humid summers here in Georgia. I don't put much makeup on at all too so that's the trick right there, less is more. Plus day time makeup vs night time makeup are like way different. Bolder styles that have lots of layers should be reserved for night time outings since its also cooler during that time, while more natural styles are for the day that require much less makeup.

Awesome I'm gonna hunt that down. Thankyou, blessed.

I use the Revlon colorstay whipped creme makeup at the moment. While it is liquid it dries up really well, nice and opaque ... great product but not very affordable. Running out sucks.

I'll try anything!

I use 'Nude' the one commonly advertised for everyday type of use. It lasts ages and is comfy and I haven't had any allergic reactions to it. I became reactive to Revlon, may face would swell and be very red.
