See: Differences between Man Boobs and Gynecomastia

It will probably depend on whether your moobs are the result of being over weight or from gynecomastia. In the former it is just fat deposit and the latter instance is due also to glandular development. You need glandular development for breasts. It may be that the glandular development mightn't be noticeable under the moobs so it might seem like nothing is happening until it all catches up to the appropriate size under normal development. But I'm no expert so take what I say with a grain of salt.

Thanks a bunch Ms Grace. That help greatly. I guess I will find out along the way while on HRT. Thanks a million.

I'll tell you something from real-world observation.  At last year's Pride there was a topless cis girl with very obvious tubular breasts.  I've been on Estrace and Spiro for over a year and mine look nothing like what I saw on her.  When my breasts are warm and have been out of a bra for a little while they protrude somewhat more than I would like, but I know they are still developing and that this is part of the growth cycle.  What keeps lagging behind in growth is the rounding out below the nipple because the skin there is taking longer to expand enough for the volume to settle lower relative to the nipple.  If it weren't for the skin tension I think they would naturally rest rounder on my chest.  I'm happy because the volume is increasing and I'll happily wait for the skin to catch up and 'shape up'.  Plus the right bra makes them look awesome anyway! ;D

I (like a lot of people here) started out with tubular traffic cones. My endocrinologist then put me on prometrium and over a period of about 6 months they filled out and quit looking so much like a teenage girls boobs. Growth is still occurring (Itching!! Arrgghhhh!).

So yes, conical boob development in the early stages is completely normal. Whether or not progesterone will help with that is a decision that is best left up to you and your doctor.

I have been on a transitioning level dose of HRT for about 15 months and progesterone for about 8 months.

Yes, perfectly normal, and that's what early teenage girls' breasts look like too. Fat deposits eventually help with the rounding out.
Actually fat is only part of it - a major part is the differentation of breast tissue into "lobes" - first you only get milk ducts and fat, later the tissue that actually can produce milk is formed more and this gives the round shape.

I have only ever taken (low dose) estrogen, no anti-androgen much less progesterone, and at 5 years on HRT I have nicely rounded mature 42DDD breasts. But even though I was a C cup at 4 months on E, they were definitely perky and conical and teenage at that point... it took years and patience for them to get the mature shape and be less sticky-outy.

I also started with some genuine gynecomastia, meaning actual glandular development, and it's very possibly the reason that I developed so fast.
My guess is, that you had a VSD of some sorts anyways - a hormonal shift, PAIS or something therelike. This probably helped you a lot developing that well.

I noticed however that low dosages of E o ften seem to give more satisfying results than the higher ones given in the hope to accelerate development. Consider in teenage girls, E is also not that high and they actually do have some more T than one would think.

Pointy - round - pointy are very normal cycles... Sometimes mine get a little more pointy when or after not wearing a bra... (been on E & S for well over 10 Years, P for over 5, Fin. Just recently) Did not really notice any shape difference before P or after....

Mouu~ you're all so lucky :s but yes op I think it is normal...mine are sort of pointy and conical as well, and I've been on HRT for 4.5 years already.  Mine still resemble a teenage girl's, think I'm still an AA...but I'm also tall and skinny and smaller breasts run in my family, so I don't think they're going to get much bigger unless I put on some weight, would be nice if I could at least get to a B...one bonus though is that I don't need to wear a bra, unless I'm wearing a thin white top.  Wish I could see a doctor about that, but no doctors where I currently live specialize in the LGBTI circles, and my old GP is now a 5 hour drive away x.x
