Ok so my wife.. soon to be ex and my soul mate and my Daughter were watching the Golden Globes..
When Transparent won a Golden I had to leave the room to cry.
I felt so alone as a child like I was the only one in the world that felt the way I did.
Their acceptance speech touched me deeply and I had a big cry but one of happiness knowing.. we are not alone.. we are special.
Love to all

That's cool. Still haven't seen the show, don't think it's available via my usual channels.

I don't have cable TV so I watched it over the internet. I enjoyed the series, and as a mature transitioner I found Moria's journey to be pretty authentic. It is a good show and is deserving of whatever award it gets.

It's only available on Amazon Prime.  You have fork over 99 bucks a year to watch it.

Worth every penny.

I haven't watched it yet either and I have Amazon Prime. Which I agree it's worth the 99 bucks a year for the shipping alone.

Jeffrey Tambor also won for his role.  Both acceptance speeches made my cry.  Nice to be acknowledged.

I missed the award to Jeffrey.. he took the roll so seriously and wanted to do us justice.. what a wonderful man,
So glad he won!

It really is a sweet show. I am only half way through the season but I have really loved it so far.

Touching speeches.

I see it on Huffington Post once in a while when someone does an article on an episode. I wish I could watch it all the time.

I remember Jared Leto's speech where he didn't even acknowledge trans people.  Both speeches last night show you how much this show has its heart in the right place.  Even though the main trans char is played by a cis male, you can tell he approached it with thoughtful care, plus it does have quite a few side chars played by trans people in it.

I started binge watching the show last night after the awards show. You can tell a great deal of care went into the show and really does show what many, if not all, of us go through.

It shows more the late transitioner experience, which I am not a late transitioner, but while I don't have specifically the same experience of the story being shown personally, I will say it feels very authentic, and there is enough universal struggle between all generations that I do find things I really identify with too.  There is nuance that only somebody that has really bothered to understand would even know how to portray.

Kinda' needs a cis male to play the role, too. Especially considering where the story starts.

That's true, what about in season 3 if there is one?  You can't fake hrt.  I guess you could say she doesn't get good results form it, that happens. I  am ok with it anyway tho, cause they definitively needed a recognizable name for the lead part , and Jeffrey Tambor is treating it like he has a responsibility to do it right, which is great.

Amazon has more than one site depending on what country you are from. In the United states a prime membership is necessary. I have checked a couple of the others and it appears to be United States only which makes me believe it may be restricted to inside the United States at this point unless they allow you to view it from the amazon.com main site, but prime membership is the only way.
