So my question here is when were you able to wear a normal bra and not a sports bra, and we're you able to buy it from a store or have to order one for your size.  I been wear sports bras now for 6 months, and the are practically a full A cup however they do not have a perfect round tear drop shape, and the seem to be slightly further apart on my chest then closer to give cleavage.  Because of this, not only are they to small to fill an A cup bra regardless of band width, but I noticed the my breasts side a little further apart then the cups of a bra.  Meaning lots of air space.  Do the breasts ever come closer together?  Will they ever get full and round, or do they always look like a child's.  I know people have said that they have growth cycles but good lord.  >.< I just want to wear a normal pretty bra.  I tried 36 and that is to tight, so if you know where to get a 38A then please inform me as it doesn't exsist at Walmart, Target, etc.  :-\

I pretty much started wearing padded bras as soon as I had to when walking down down stairs meant there was a bounce in my chest. The breasts were quite small and I started with 36AA bras that I bought as a stock clearance via eBay. These bras were enough for me to hold them in place and prevent the uncomfortable pull on them as I walked down steps and the padding to a lesser degree protected them from any brushing with solid objects. I rarely wear my sports bras, they make my boobs feel like they are being mashed back into the rib cage.

Mine too grew what I felt was sideways initially. Over time as they've grown bigger and rounder this has become less of an issue for me. In my case with a good underwire balconette bra they now face forward. I don't have them quite touching together unless I wear a push up bra, but it's not a look I go for. As for whether yours will get fuller and rounder I cannot say, it is a YMMV type question, however give it plenty of time, as even cis women take many years to grow breasts too.

Have you tried on-line such as figleaves or herroom for AA size bras?
Nobody's perfect ...   I'll never try,
But I promise I'm worth it, if you just open up your eyes,
I don't need a second chance, I need a friend,
Someone who's gonna stand by me right there till the end,
If you want the best of my heart, you've just gotta see the good in me.

I bought a few bras and tried them. I am still experimenting. One day I will get a proper fitting.

When I started I used sports bras but I also got one size fits all bras which aren't too bad. The Haynes comfortflex fit seems to work. Try those. I got mine from Amazon but I think walmart sells them.

I also got a juniors bra from walmart. It's basically the no boundaries "best bra ever." It's nice because with a v neck it just peeks out and looks like a camisole which gives it a nice look. It also works with flat chests. That's what I'm wearing right now. I wear it some days. It is pretty comfy, not too tight.

Now I got a 36A vassarette from Amazon. It's padded lightly but the band is too loose so I may try a 34B and see. My band size actually went down since I started HRT and also lost some weight.

As for the actual breast growth, you know what I'm going to say - everyone is different. Generally though due to T poisoning our rib cages are wider than cis women, so our boobs will be spread apart some more.

I guess after a couple of years when you've developed all you can, you can think about a BA if you aren't happy with your breast development?

Bear in mind the only reason I'm wearing a bra right now is because without one my clothes rub against my nipples and it is extremely distracting. So I don't mind if they look flat-ish (but they don't really).

I started wearing normal padded bras once i hit an A cup, because at an A cup i felt my breast bounce as i walked.. plus I really wanted to start wearing proper bra's as sports are a little plain.

I also lost a band size somewhere during my hrt transformation.

I recently started wearing genie bras. I have a little bit of tissue there due to being overweight. I have not started HRT yet but hope to soon. I purchased  several of these to wear under regular clothes to help with gender dysphoria.
I'm not really a boy, I just play one on TV.

That is a novel place to keep questions.

Sorry, I couldn't resist.  Anyhow, to answer your question. I started well before hormones, in the UK you have to do the social transition before you get those. I got some cheap breast forms (about £20 on Amazon IIRC) and the right size bra to fit. That was a while back and I have (just) enough organically grown boobage to fill an A cup. I have the same everything at the side and not so much in the middle situation as you. They might fill out in time or they might not. I'm not too worried TBH, it will be fun enough just finding out.

Well that was fun! What's next?

I'm guessing you haven't been on hrt for a long time yet? Cause breast growth and how they mature is a very gradual process. Mine finally started looking much more mature after about 2 and a half of years on hrt. Now that I'm just a few months from my 3 year mark they've gone into a new growing phase.

In regards to wide set breasts (lots of space in between) look into bras that have a wide center panel like this:

balconette bras (perfect for small busts) and demi bras if you have broad shoulders (the straps are set further apart) look great too!

me personally wore sports bras for longest time, im talkin years. for one my boobs kept on growing and the price of a good bra adds up especially if your still growing. granite its not like your growing over night but still they are an investment and can add up. now after being properly fitted bra's are no longer a nightmare to shop for. we need a donate section seriously, im going in for ba in the fall and would love to give my current bra's to someone that could put them to use. can I ask how long have you been on mones for, its sounds like you have a ways to go and in my opinion unless your looking for something special a sports bra might be the way till you get more growth

->-bleeped-<-, just seen your counter on the bottom of your post......18 months still early in the process

Victoria secret is known for inaccurate measuring. They don't measure the underbust properly.

Bra size:

I'm sorry, but I think that I can't say much for your bra size; that is an incredibly individual issue to overcome. I've seen it shared often enough that most women wear an incorrect bra size. I think maybe it would help you to consider some Googling on the various bra types available to fit breasts that are far apart. When you feel comfortable, there are also many clothing store workers who have a lot of experience in measuring bra size and can help you to select the right fit. It really helps to get multiple opinions, too.

Breast formation:

Breast formation is very individual as well. It could come in quickly or very slowly. Their shape could change dramatically over time. Many girls continue to see development into their early 20s despite growth beginning at age 8 - 13.

I think it's also worth mentioning: my boyfriend recently pointed out to me that it isn't uncommon for trans women/girls to have frustrations about being underdeveloped. Especially in regard to shape, a cone type form is not infrequent. I think he pulled that statement from the fact that some implant surgeons say this is a common concern they hear from women like us. Please don't be discouraged if you continue to be disappointed by your shape, it isn't all too uncommon for cis women to feel this frustration as well. Breast augmentation is also reasonably affordable with some smart saving, if you feel okay with that sort of thing.

Anecdotal experience:

I have been on HRT for a little over four years and I still occasionally find myself with growth soreness (as I type this, even). I was an A cup until about a year ago, and even that size took ages to come in, when my boobs suddenly sprang up again and shuttled my bra size healthily into the B range. I have also lost approximately 50 pounds (currently 160 at 5'9") since mid-2013 and, contrary to what I often read online, it actually helped my chest stand out more. I also used to have to deal with more of a cone shape, but that has rounded off considerably over the past year (especially when the area is aroused).

I was really surprised by my current bout of soreness, but am also happy that development continues several years down the line. I had just about given up even though I knew continued growth was possible.

Other stuff, silliness:

You can't be certain of your outcome until years and years down the road. It can be really frustrating, but please keep your chin up! You might just find yourself with pleasant results.

I have to express, too, that the word "breasts" is so weird to me. I find it so difficult to say or type and not feel awkward. Maybe it's a habit/outlook I picked up from friends, but really, I feel like "breast" is either something in the grocery or an alien appendage.
Why do I always write such incredibly long posts?

At first I wore fancy pretty underwire bra's then after a woman friend of mine suggested soft playtex 18 hour bra's I'll never go back. They are so comfortable. I'm a B cup & hope for larger breasts maybe. The growth seems to come & go. Sometimes my nipples really burn for days then sometimes no sensation at all.
mtF, mid 50's, always a girl since childhood, HRT (Spiro, E & Fin.) since 8-13. Hormone levels are t at 12 & estrogen at 186. Face lift & eye lid surgery in 2014. Abdominoplasty/tummy tuck & some facial surgery May, 2015. Life is good for me. Love long nails & handsome men! Hopeful for my GRS & a nice normal depth vagina maybe by late summer. 5' 8", 180 pounds, 14 dress size, size 9.5 shoes. I'm kind of an elegant woman & like everything pink, nice & neet. Love my nails & classic Revlon Red. Moving back to Florida, so excited but so much work moving

While I only have about 38A breasts, I wear 38C pushups. I like the way it looks in the mirror without going overboard. 38C seems to be proportional to my body size. I'm 6'1", between 175 and 180 pounds.

Bra measurement calculators I don't think are so accurate. In one I am measured at 40C and another one 40D. Go figure.

It's harder for me to get an accurate measurement when you use the method shown by Victoria's Secret because some remaining chest muscle above my boobs.  I measure below for band size and across where they are biggest with an unpadded bra on.  It's good to also pay attention to how the bra fits.  If it rides up in the back the band is too loose.  In the end, you need to try them on.  Measuring is only a guideline for which to try.  I measure 34.5 underboob and 42 across.  I ended up wearing some 38Cs and because the strap rode up during the day I got some 36Cs which don't.  I probably should use a 36D but my bra budget is done for a while.

I tend to think the professional fitting isn't the greatest way to go, or at least I haven't found them helpful yet.  They were recommending bras that bunched skin out at the armpit among other things. The best way to go is to learn the signs of a bad fit and try them on.
