I have been on the injection for about a month now. I have been doing the injection, a certain way. I started by injecting in the leg where i was told.  When i pressed the fluid in its a sturggle. until it finally goes in. my thigh feels sore after the injection. I have notice a bit of swelling, no discoloration, or serious pain. My next injection is tomorrow.  I am a bit concerend about the swelling. Is it normal for it to swell.

I inject now in bed before I go to bed and go to bed right after. I no longer get bad pain in the injection site the day after that use to last 3 days.

The fluid is thick and takes a bit of pressure to get it in. ( I inject del-estrogen so it may be different)

I hope this helps.

Estradiol valerate is just as thick and hard to push in.

I've never noticed any swelling. I use an 1 1/2 inch 21 gauge needle. When I inject, I pus the plunger on the syringe in slowly. (A tip a nurse gave me.) It reduces the soreness a little.

Hi, not sure if you already do this but it helps to thin the oil a bit by putting the vial in fairly warm water (water level up to about 1/2 to 3/4 of the height of the vial) for about 5 minutes.  An old prescription bottle works well so the vial wont fall over.  Just make sure the water does not cool down much.  I use a 1 1/2 in. X 22g and it injects with ease.   Dani

Thank you for your responses. Should i be concerned about the swelling? No discoloration or pain. A bit of soreness after injection.

I've not experienced any swelling but if it was me, I would want to check with my doctor, if for nothing else just to put my mind at ease.   Dani

I use a 27g needle and while it takes a bit longer to get the fluid in, the needle does much less skin and muscle tearing than the bigger needles, plus it hurts less.  I was using a 25 gauge needle and was getting some soreness, but not anymore with the 27g.
