I know the size of growth is genetic, but I have heard people talking about things like pumping to help it grow bigger. What techniques are there to achieve optimal growth?

From what I know, there's pumping, and DHT cream.

I've heard the cream and pumping both work, or some people do a mix of both. Though, there are side effects with the cream, such as balding.  I would have to say pumping would be the best option, since the cream is expensive and a highly controlled substances, and you can't buy it in the us without a prescription. I believe you need to order it online from canada or something along those lines.
Pumping is something that's pretty simple, and takes 5, 10, (20?) minutes of your day depending how often you pump. I've started pumping 2 weeks ago and I've already notice a slight growth. I'm also only 3 months on t so I'm sure that's a factor.
The pump is also around 60 dollars depending where you buy it from. You can always talk to your endo about the cream as well if you want to consider it.

This is the pump I see mentioned the most by transguys.  I recently purchased it and have been using it.  I have seen growth, but I am sure this is because I am still new to T.

You cannot buy DHT cream in the US even with a prescription.  Skylar has used DHT and has quite a number of posts with information about it on his tumblr .

The problem with the cream is how costly it is, how hard it is to get from outside the US into the US.  It can only be used for a very limited amount of time, and greatly hastens balding (something Skylar has experienced and talked about in his blog.

Im starting T next month so interested in this post.

Heard some guys say their dick is nearly 4 inches long. Id be more than happy with that.

You guys that have been on T for a year or longer, do you mind saying how big you've grown so far?

ThatAussieDude

I'm 15 months on T and about an inch to an inch and a half (when sexually aroused). 4 inches is extremely lucky!!!

What guys say their dick size is vs what size it actually is often is very different.  I'd say 4 inches is very above average.  1.5-2.5 appears to be far more common.  And then there are those guys who experienced very little growth, but I don't see it talked about as much as it should (I guess no one wants to admit to a small dick).  I personally have grown about 1/2 to 3/4 of an inch (I didn't measure before starting and haven't measured now just estimating my size) and I've been on T for far longer than one year.

Oh really? Well that's a bummer eh.

Glad I know now though, saves me getting my hopes up for 4 inches when it's unlikely to be that.

Did either of you guys use a pump etc?

ThatAussieDude

I don't. I don't see the point. But each to their own

As far as I know that is just for masturbation assistance, not growth enhancement.

I've had a tiny bit of growth already (just under a centimeter). No pumping or anything, just T. My boyfriend is about 2.5" with no pumping. For me, it's not really important so I don't plan on doing any pumping.

I do wonder how much genetics plays a part, if any, in this. And obviously that would be a weird conversation for most of us to have with our parents  :P  But it would be interesting to see.

being overweight can make it seem smaller than it is, just like a cis guys junk can gain some length when weight is lost, if there is fat pushing down and covering over the area, you won't see the full length.
