I'm 2 months and a week on testosterone and the last couple of weeks I've noticed my hair has felt more dry and coarse. It's lost its silky feel. Is this a testosterone thing? I've only noticed it since starting T and I get my haircut regularly so it's not slit ends. It's not a change I'm worried about, I'm just curious if it is the T doing this.

Mine did nearly the same thing.  It also thickened up quite a bit.

Yes, it's a T thing. I hear many of the women saying that their hair gets softer once they start HRT.

Yeah my hair did the same thing, it's a good thing though, it made my hair look a lot more masculine as a result, and I have way less frustrations with my hair now. It's the subtle things.

Huh. Never noticed that, should look at it carefully now.

I'm over two years on T and had been anticipating that my hair would become more rough or coarse, but it never did -- it's still about as smooth and soft as ever. It was very, very soft beforehand, to the extent I'd get comments on it, so maybe that's just how my hair is meant to roll. T did make it a bit thicker, though.

Thanks guys, glad its a T thing and not something like using a bad shampoo or whatnot

I haven't noticed a thing, still very soft and thin as it was before. I do believe it has more to do with genetics whether you'll have much of a hair change or not.

Yes, mine definitely became coarser on T. It also went curly from being quite straight before.

I agree that my hair has changed. It went from barely wavey/pretty straight to wavy/curly. I'm not sure how long I was on t before it drastically changed, but I believe it was after a year.
Gender expression is NOT gender identity.

Defective Catastrophe.

total TMI but I had to switch to an anti-dandruff shampoo when before that had never been an issue

Not sure how much/if the hair on top of my head has changed since I never paid much attention to the texture before, but the lower back of my neck used to have downy, light-colored fluff on it. The fluff has been replaced by dark, coarse curly hairs. Not sure what to call it, a backwards neckbeard maybe.
