Hello everyone, I'm Simone....pleasure to be here. I'm 33 (34 in two weeks) and have been dressing and living as a woman since I was 18. I'm not financially able to start hormones or anything of the like, but I will get there one day.....I do have a question, though....I see a lot of people have their pics as their avatar...but I don't see an option to add one. Why is that? Any help would be appreciated.

Hi, Simone!  Welcome!  You have very limited abilities until you have 15+ posts.  I'm sure one of the mods will come along and post their links about the rules and whatnot.  But I was a bit confused too at first.  The information is here: https://www.susans.org/forums/index.php/topic,114.0.html.

One more question, if anyone could possibly point me in the right direction...is there a forum where fellow TG's discuss depression? I have been in a really, really dark place lately and, to be honest.....I could use a place to vent and maybe get a little support. There's not much to be had in a small town in Kentucky....thank you, in advance.

I haven't seen a forum specifically for mental health issues (little odd, imho), but they are so common among trans people that you can post it pretty much anywhere.  This forum in particular has a lot of things dealing with depression; https://www.susans.org/forums/index.php/board,4.0.html

Hi Simone, welcome to Susan's Place! I'm from Boston. We're busy rolling up the sidewalks for the blizzard, but really it's a wonderful city.......when it isn't shut down!    See you around the site!

Hugs, Devlyn

Hi Simone, I'm from a small town in Kentucky too. I'm 27 and been on hrt for a little over 5 months now. Not sure what you do for a living but I was able to get on Medicaid to cover all of my transition expenses. If that is something you would like to pursue that is. Anyway, just thought I'd say hi welcome to Susans and feel free to give me a PM if you'd like to talk more.

Really? I messaged you....oh, my, this could be....the blessing I have needed!! I hit a brick wall last year in trying to find a therapist or endo....I, literally, called every one I could find...and resigned myself to...this, after nobody would even consider helping me. Go Kentucky. Lol.
