I am starting to get kinda serious about HRT, but I am worried about my libido. I already have a low sex drive and don't want to lose it completely. Could someone tell me about their experiences?

I have the opposite problem. Mine went away for a while, and then gradually came back. It's hard for me to get rid of mine. Maybe yours won't go away forever.

My libido receded considerably on Spiro. I couldn't have erections, but was able to feel arousal and to have orgasms (though it was much harder).
Have you read my short story The Eve of Triumph?

I had a really decreased libido on e pills. Now that I am IM there is a day 2 through day 7 period where libido increase. I hope to some day be off of spiro and I hope that increases libido.

It's my understanding that both male and female libido is directly related to the testosterone amounts in your bloodstream (hence the treatment for low female libido is actually low dose testosterone).

So I guess it all depends on your current testosterone levels and what sort of blockers you go on.

Depends on the person, and thier own body, speaking from my background with KS - Klienfelters Syndrome, I already had low libido anyway, since starting on Spironolactone I have not had any sexual feelings, Zero  zilch.
I'm currently on Estradot patches, and parts of the body are getting bigger, and parts shrinking [emoji15] but it's all good

Libido? Whats that?

I used to have one of those but it's completely AWOL now; in fact I'd much rather just go to sleep or cuddle than to get into a sweaty situation with someone.

Ok, this might sound confusing, but i will try explaining anyhow...
Iibido went away, but i did "try" to see if it still works and when the ejaculate clears up etc.
first few months, was able to get semi errect and sort of orgasm, but with difficulty.
About 6 months, and only produces a little clear liquid.

Orgasms have changed completely for me, and i prefer it to male ones.
Actually i have very littly feeling in that part lately, i have the same feelings as say, touching/liking my finger.

I am in a relationship again, but I have noticed that spontaneous errections are possible ( much stronger than when trying by myself). I have no desire to make use of it, or even how long it will last, and actually find it quite annoying. ..

What i have realized now is a heavy need for having the correct parts down there

Desire for having sex as a guy, hell no, thats totally gone for me! And there are much nicer areas of the body to explore.

I would have to say it's different. I had problems before, since I knew myself. Now with HRT I can't really stand at attention on demand. Different things get me aroused now. Orgasms were always full body but feel really niiiiiice and intense now, almost toe curling, lol.

Well put Kate, spot on!

Indeed!  :D

Spiro, for me, not only kills the drive, but makes it a lot of work to get aroused, orgasmic.  I can, and do, do it, but it is few and far between and my wife and I have accepted that it is not a quick, spontaneous thing.  I have noticed that I get more aroused by mental stimulation than physical since stating E.  She can no longer just give me the look and meet me in the bedroom.  She has to give me the look, then let me start thinking about it, then we may go into the bedroom. ha!
Some people say I'm apathetic, but I don't care.

Hi Alexis,

I am sorry to ask, and you can ignore me,  but when you say:      "Orgasms have changed completely for me, and i prefer it to male ones."

Are you saying that what you are doing to get excited is physically what men typically do? or is it on a different part of the body?

Sorry, but trying not to be too descriptive.

You can do it that way or explore your body in different ways. Breasts for example become much more sensitive and you will find parts of you that get you excited when they are touched.

T is not the be all and end all of libido, my T level is way lower than it needs to be and I have quite a healthy libido. Your brain plays a large part, too..

I'm on an incredibly low dose of Androcur. My T levels have gone from 110 to 21 in the course of 4 months. I would describe my libido as "in control." I can still get aroused and erect, but only when I want to. I no longer feel compelled by my libido.
Started HRT in October, 2014. Orchiectomy in August, 2015. Full-time in July, 2016!

If you need an understanding ear, feel free to PM me.

To Emilie.
The male way is long gone,  i make use of exploring other parts of the body, especially the breasts.
I try to avoid touching "that" part as much as i can these days. But I have tried playing the old way occasionally,  just for reference,  and to judge the changes.
I don't even like thinking its there when im with my girlfriend.

Omg! Screw libido! I'm super submissive i love to be held kissed and comforted and i'm made for pleasing it does more for me than anytime i ever was intimate with anyone as the dominant one... yuck... dont like even thinking back that far! Idk everyone is different though... sometimes i get uncontrollable orgasmic feelings that intensify to the point that im really loud... but my curse isnt erect at all... maybe im just a freak? Well definately not maybe..lol.

I'm post-op and I find estrogen INCREASES my libido. My T is very low and libido is not only affected by androgen. I enjoy having a sex drive. :)

Progesterone also increases libido in some. I take it too.
I am not a medical doctor, nor a scientist - opinions expressed by me on the subject of HRT are merely based on my own review of some of the scientific literature over the last decade or so, on anecdotal evidence from women in various discussion forums that I have come across, and my personal experience

Before HRT, I never realized how that "hunger" for sexual encounters is strongly driven by testosterone.  Yes, the stereotypical male libido (curse) started disappearing and was gone by about 4 - 6 weeks into HRT.  It's a blessing in most ways, but I do miss the omnipresent motivation that T seemed to give me (not for sex, but the confidence it gave me for getting things done).

I know girls who are over 2 years into HRT and have a hyperactive (IMO male-like) libido, so I really hope that doesn't happen to me.

Wow.. You realise how offensive this might be to some? But then, the whole women have no libido's and only men are interested in sex thing is a load of crap.. Society just teaches women not to talk about it.

My T level is close enough to zero to make no odds, I still have a very healthy libido, you'd probably call it hyperactive.. There's nothing male-like about it all.
