Yes I got a referral there, the endocrinologist that is investigating the gynocomastia will refer me to a dr Roberts or somebody.  He is the only endocrinologist that can get a patient onto HRT.  Before I get to see Dr Robert I have to get ruled out that I have a brain tumor(benign) first. As i posted before if I start on HRT i will be leaking milk all over the place with my prolactin levels.

Yeah, one thing at a time. Do whatever you need to - If you really want this, it is yours :~)

Take care,

My GP also gave me a referral to the Gender Disphoria Clinic but I lost the referral during the chaos of moving house.  I need to go back and get a new one printed off from my GP.

Also thanks for clarifying the point about RLE, my stress levels went through he roof there for a moment

  :o

Tony Roberts is at the RAH and is one of three endos in Adelaide who look after us, Rosie Jones and Sarah Mickelson are the others.

The waiting list for the gender unit is massive, at least six months. You need a referral to see Dr Rob Lyons at Hewitt house .

If you wish we can catch up for a coffee and I can go through the process with you.

PM me if you like.

Hi Cindy thanks for the information.  Correct me if I am mistaken but I thought if i get a referral to DR Robert he can prescribe HRT?  The waiting list to see him is 6 months?

I just dont want to wait 1 month to see my endocrinologist and then have to wait 6 months to see Dr Roberts only to be told I need to wait 6 months to see someone else!
I have been planing this meticulously for years and the bureaucracy in Australia is killing me.

The endocrinologist is Dr Tony Roberts, I presume you have a referral to him fly the gynomastia . If you want to go on cross sex hormones for gender reassignment I think you will need to see D Lyons who is a psychiatrist and head of the gender unit. Tony may well give you the referral.

That is my understanding, of course I may be wrong but the three endos I mentioned work closely with the gender unit and Dr
Lyons. The problem in Adelaide is a state government act, the gender reassignment act of 1988. We have all been trying to get it repealed. Everyone but the damned politicians want it repealed.

I and others have worked like crazy to get it before a select committee, we achieved that in December.

The endo I am seeing knows all about my gender disphoria and he will refer me to Dr Robert for HRT treatment - dont know if i need to see a psychiatrist too(i already am seeing a psychologist).  I  was hoping the endo i saw could treat me with HRT but apparently not.  i should of been firmer with the endo and asked for a referral, but he wanted to get this prolactin business investigated first.  Had i been quicker i should of explained the waiting times etc...

Anyway all this is off topic to the original post of transitioning at work.  Sorry folks LOL

wow so in Australia i need to present myself at work before I can get onto HRT treatment? That is like torture for someone like me lacking in a bit of confidence  :embarrassed:

I use to work at two different venues. I had been on hormones for about 6 months when one of my bosses asked me to work for him full time. That was the only reason why I told him then, so he had the opportunity to say no then and there. I was being honest and upfront so there would be no surprises later on. I was just presenting how I always presented in my off hours as I did normally, I never did have much of a "male" wardrobe.
