Hi All,

New to Susan's and in the process of transition. I am currently working on hair removal and had a question regarding pubic hair and GCS. I, like probably all of us, have spent probably too much time staring at pictures of post operative vaginas and noticed that most people retain some/a lot of pubic hair. I am assuming that is to hide scars. The thing is, I absolutely hate pubic hair and really don't want to have any, ever. My intent is to get a Laser Brazilian treatment as part of my hair removal (candidly, I have so much body hair that the Full Body option at most salons is more economical.)

My question is, and I know that everyone's body heals differently, how bad is the potential scarring down below after surgery? Bad enough in cases that hair is really the only option to keep it looking natural? The only people who will ever see it would be me, my doctor, and my partner. I could possibly live in a little hair on the sides, but not much else.. I REALLY hate pubic hair!  ;D

Thanks for any insights!

Well after my surgery with Chett scarring is minimal, so I can shave it all, but gurl, the hair got so much thicker for some reason, it's really become a nuisance. The irritation, itching, it's really bad. And per Chett's instruction you need to wait a year before laser hair removal so I can't wait x.x

It depends, of course, on the individual body... but at this point, my scarring is basically invisible unless someone's right up in there with a good light source.  I *could* shave bare without showing it, if I wanted to. (I'm the opposite though -  I hate shaving down there.) I'm over three years post-op now, and only had two visible scars to begin with, one about 2" long down the center of each labia majora.
