The thing about dream imagery is that the same image can mean different things to different people. It's all based on the associations you have with a certain image. Sure there are countless books written on what seeing something in a dream is supposed to mean... but it's been my experience that not everyone feels the same way about the same things.

The best thing to do is, if you can, to break down the imagery in your dream, and reflect on what associations you have with the various parts of it. How do you feel about being stranded on an island? What associations do you have with that? Relief? Loneliness? A need for your own space? A feeling of isolation and that you want to be somewhere you're accepted more?

That's the thing about dreams. They're usually the deep part of our minds trying to tell us something, but you have to learn to understand the language. Which is the language of images. If a dream therapist could tell you what your dreams mean... I would be highly sceptical. Just think about them, sweetie. And how you feel about the things you see in them. And what that could mean for you. That, I have found, is the best way to deal with them.

*hugs*

Is that how you feel, hon? Isolated? That could be a meaning of the island dream.

How do you feel about family? If you don't mind me asking.

Would you want kids with someone you loved very much?

Sweetie, dreams don't take that into account. Dreams aren't logical. In your dream you were with a woman and she was giving birth with your sperm because the mind, when the conscious part is shut down, doesn't understand the complexities of flesh. The subconscious sees people for who they are. So why wouldn't you be using your sperm, and why wouldn't she be able to give birth, you know? You're a guy, she's a girl. That's all the subconscious needs to know. So if you feel that way, then the subconscious is all "okay, boy-meets-girl, boy-falls-for-girl, boy-and-girl-make-babies scenario... check!" Doesn't matter that you or her may not have the right bits, you know? In your minds you are who you are, and so it follows into your dreams.

Heck, I first found myself through a dream. They tell you the truth when you can't see it for the fleshy bits that get in the way. :)

Dreams are mostly a reflection of what is going on in our life presently or past events. Somewhat unhelpfully the subconscious can employ very abstract metaphors to explore the issues at hand. As Sephirah says, that imagery can mean different things to different people depending on the circumstances and I would agree that the island dream would seem to indicate a sense of isolation but with a means to communicate still available..."if you want to get off the island reach out". The birth dream may be a latent desire to do the same but usually dreams represent ourselves - birth is the very symbol of new life, and as you say you've had a big change in your life and maybe a new you desires to emerge into the world - essentially you are giving birth to yourself. What that ultimately means is how you feel during the dream - pain, afraid, joyous, frustrated, etc. As for the ex crush dream, what did she mean to you, what did you envisage your future together could have been, why did it never eventuate and what did you feel about that? The fact she is in your dreams usually means that your subconscious is either trying to heal your emotions around that or something has triggered it (a similar circumstance, maybe you someone who looked like her, a blast from the bast, etc) and your subconscious sees parallels.

The fact that you have a trinity of dreams that are recurring in a similar time frame would indicate they are interconnected somehow. Resolving the deeper meaning may require breaking each dream down into your feelings about them and see how it applies to your life at the moment.

Of course, as Sigmund Freud once said of dreams and symbolism "sometimes a cigar is just a cigar".
