So last night my mother got ahold of my bottle of Spiro in an attempt to figure out what it was, i quickly snatched it back but this naturaly lead to a conversation about them. My mother tried a guess and it was pretty out there, she asked me if I had a sexualy transmitted disease, this question was a bit awkward but i told her that i did not have am STD. Because of this i was actualy trying to tell her that I am transgender, it didnt work...I felt so nervous and scared that i started laughing, which is what happens when im scared or nervous. I didn't tell her but i have hardened myself for this coversation today, and in a little while...probably within the next hour and fourty five minutes or so I am goig to have "the talk" . so.....wish me luck? ^-^

Maybe just tell her to read the Wikipedia article on spironalactone and see if she can guess why you're taking it :p

I played that game with a friend before XD

Best of luck!!!

I wouldn't bother with such details. Just tell her you are transgender and explain your struggle and why it is important to you.

Let her know it's not her fault.

Explain that for you it is a wonderful thing and finally living as your authentic self.

That's what I did.

Dad doesn't talk to me anymore but my mom has embraced me as her daughter.

It is what it is.

Good luck hon!

Thank you everyone  for your support :) Jo I want to say that you are really pretty! And imagineKate I took you advice and told her straight up, it wasnt the easiest conversation ive ever had but I was able to explain my experience and how important it is to me aswell as clarrify to her that gender identity and sexuality are not the same thing. she said it was the worst thing I could have told her in the begining and by the end she was crying telling me how much she loves me and how she realised it wouldnt change who I am. I know she will struggle with my transition but today a huge step forward for our rocky relationship  :)

There will be good times and bad yet ahead, but with each step you are closer to sheer happiness. I hope the support you are seeing only gets stronger and stronger! Believe it or not there does come a point in transition where it is much easier. I personally think besides coming out to ourselves that coming out period is the hardest step for us all. Congrats on getting it out! :)

I agree about coming out being the hardest part of transition, its definetly proven true in my case. Thank you Jessica for your encouragement :)
