1. Within 24 hours, my libido hit the roof. My voice started changing after a few weeks. My face was visibly different after about 3 months.

2. Major changes for me are the usual list, voice change, body hair, facial hair (some), muscle development, fat redistribution, hands and feet slightly larger (feet grew a size). I now have fairly prominent veins on my hands and forearms.

3. I take Depotestosterone shots.

1. I didn't really start noticing anything till after the first month- I was on a really low dose for the first month and I really don't think anything changed while I was on that dose. During the second month, my leg hair practically doubled in length and thickness and my voice dropped so significantly that my mom didn't recognize me on the phone.
2. Usual, though I haven't been on hormones for that long (bout 3 months). My voice has dropped significantly, my hairline is more masculine (I don't know how to explain it without pointing it out on a picture- but you know how most mens hair kindof goes "in" towards the forhead before receding towards the sideburn?), lots of leg hair, I grew an inch, my shoe size has gone up 1.5, and I sortof have a sex drive (in comparison to zilch before).
3. I'm on testosterone cypionate.

Oh yeah, I forgot the hairline. That happened in the first few months as well.

I'm on cypionate as well - Depo is the brand name.

1/ When did you first notice that the hormones where taking affect and how did you know? Like what was happening??
*What Dennis said about Libido...  OMG...!  One friend likened it to being a 17 yr old guy - I don't know if it was that strong, but I sure noticed the difference.  That was the very first thing - right off the bat!

Of course, I wanted to see facial hair sprouting that same week, but no luck there.  ::)

*I did also notice a fairly quick change in muscle vs fat mass though; within the first 2 months, the fat on my thighs started getting replaced with muscle.

*The other really quick change was the voice - within the first month or so, my voice went from baritone to bass.  It took another couple of weeks for it to level out and not occasionally crack.

2/ What are the major changes to your body? For example Got Taller... Etc.
*I think I'm too old to get taller (damn!), but my hands have become more masculinized, as has my face.  As Lane said, it's kind of hard to quantify, but there has been a slow but steady difference.

*My stamina and strength have both definitely increased, which is cool.

*Obviously I've gotten a lot hairier, esp in the legs and stomach.  The chest hair is starting to come in, and there's a lot of peach fuzz on my throat and chin, but no real facial hair yet.

*My metabolism has increased, and so between the T and the hysterectomy, I've gone from 205 lbs to 170.  At 5' 6", this is a welcome thing, though frankly, as I'm not even trying to lose weight, I'm planning on an appointment with my regular Doc for some tests - I've got colon cancer in my family, and I'm of an age where I should be starting to get tested.

*I tear up much less easily now - which is welcome to me.  I always used to cry pretty easily at sad movies, etc.  That was tolerable, but starting to cry when I was really angry pissed me off... it was just so "female"!  Now, I notice I don't cry nearly as readily.

*My vaginal lips and clitorus have increased in size and sensitivity.  This has caused me to actually start wearing underwear for the first time in my adult life - the chaffing was just too much otherwise!

*The much vaunted "anger issues" really haven't surfaced.  I do find myself probably a little more willing to be vocal or 'in your face' about things, (not that I ever was the shy type!), but I'm not going into 'roid rage' either.  And I know the difference!  As an asthmatic, I've seen what meds like Prednizone do to my emotions, and the T is nothing like that.

In fact, once I started the T, it immediately started to help damper the swing of emotions/moods that my monthly Estrogen cycle caused.  And now that I have no Estrogen, I'm feeling much more stable in my moods - yay!

*On the down side, I sweat a HECK of a lot more!!!  My skin is also oilier, which has caused some slight acne on my face and chest, but nothing too obnoxious - rubbing alcohol takes care of it and dries things up.

3/ What form of T do you take?
Shots... cypionate I think.  I get it from a local pharmacy that compounds their own stuff using sesame oil.  Local guys here tell me that the sesame oil is better then the oils usually used (soy? I forget...) because it's absorbed better.  Don't know, but it works.

I do shots in the leg if I have to do it myself, and if my wife is available, she gives me the shot in the rear.
(Hey Chris, I thought you said you didn't do it in the rear...???
Just kidding, dude...!   ;)  )

I've been on T for 11 months now.

Judge Yourself

Jaston, you're from the UK right?

Need to remember some of these people are americans and get a more frequent dosage than we do over here so results might vary in timescale a little from how these guys have them

- just a small thought :P

The first thing I noticed was the voice -- it dropped within a week. How low your voice will go depends on genetics and when you start. The earlier, the better. I've heard FTMs that started in middle age and they sound a bit squeaky, though definitely male. (Lately I've been doing impressions of those bass-y guys who say "angus beef" and "Ford trucks" in commercials.)

Quote*I tear up much less easily now - which is welcome to me.  I always used to cry pretty easily at sad movies, etc.  That was tolerable, but starting to cry when I was really angry pissed me off... it was just so "female"!  Now, I notice I don't cry nearly as readily.

That was one of the things that really bugged me about being a girl. I didn't WANT to cry, but it came pouring out anyway! Now I feel a lot more in-control.

I think the "anger issues" are mostly myth with a little truth mixed in. I'm more mellow than I've ever been in my life. I don't yell anymore, and I'm not as touchy and irritable. I haven't experienced mood swings or rages. "Roid rage" is pretty much confined to athletes who take massive, unhealthy doses of testosterone. Thank God!

True story man!  And yes, as Judge Yourself wisely noted, a lot of this may vary depending on the dosage your using.  I don't know what is typical in the UK, but I'm using a fairly typical dose for the US, just cut in half every week instead of the full dose every two weeks.

Your milage may differ...  ;)
