Well anti androgens!

Waxing gets easier each time from memory.

For all women, pain and beauty tend to be related!

I started to shave, to itchy after  ::)
So I bought an electric epilator, it hurt at first but gradually got used to it... Then magic happened the Anti T and HRT took over... body hair has all but vanished now... still use epilator for Legs and arm hair, although the later is very light and downy... just a smattering of the old growth once in a while. Butt and front and sides of legs are much less coated in a blanket since HRT, just the back of upper legs, Knees still get a "little" hairy. Upside epilation is so much quicker now  8)

Of course Laser works well on dark hair light skin too  ;)

Oh gosh, I probably spend more time on this issue than just about anything involving transition. I was pretty hairy going into this, but most of my body hair snow white. I think I have it all removed, but I will be out in sunlight and something will glisten on my arms or when I look in my portable make up mirror. I always have a razor and a tweezers in my handbag ready for this particular embarrassment. I have done it all. I shave everyday in the shower, I wax, I have home electrolysis kit, and I have done some laser.

I'd say an epilator is best in the long run, hurts like hell for the first few times though. After a month I hardly noticed it but the first all over session (back didn't need doing) took 3 sessions of 1hr over 3 days pre HRT.
Have a warm bath first by the way, use a cold shower to bring down a the rash (it looks bad for an hour or 2).

after 2yrs I only epilate every 3 - 4 weeks & the only sensation is the roller rubbing against my skin after 1yr HRT.

Epilator here as well. Gets easier over time to almost nothing. :)

Any suggestions for a good epilator? HRT has definitely affected the body hair but I'm still shaving the arms and legs (and chest and tummy at times) and would rather do something that lasts longer.

Epilator!

My sister steals mine now instead of shaving her legs and pits. :)

This one from Emoji is pretty good...

I just exfoliate before I shave and after and I use a fresh razor. Then I moisturize, its pain free for me.

I got a Braun Silk Epil 5 from Bed Bath & Beyond and used a 20% coupon. It hasn't removed any arm/chest hair permanently after using it for a year though. So I'm looking into laser exept you're not supposed to tweeze or epilate for a few weeks prior.
"There was a sculptor, and he found this stone, a special stone. He dragged it home and he worked on it for months, until he finally finished. When he was ready he showed it to his friends and they said he had created a great statue. And the sculptor said he hadn't created anything, the statue was always there, he just cleared away the small peices." Rambo III

Another vote for the Braun,  I use the Braun SE7681 Silk-épil 7 Wet and Dry Epilator, because it is waterproof and I can use it in or right after my shower.  I must be a fuzz butt (I sure used to be) because I spend ten minutes or so every day ripping hair from my legs and body.  Somehow I imagine the little follicles  trying to hide but to no avail bruhahahahah. (oh, it doesn't hurt if you keep up with it by the way) ;)

If you have dark body hair and light skin then you might want to consider laser for removal which will become close to permanent after a few treatments. Personally I enjoy getting waxed, it becomes much less painful with repeated sessions and, in combo with anti androgens, the regrowth is slower and finer and easier to remove.

Light hair, light skin so no laser for me. All of my face is old fashioned electro. :(

Oh you were waxing yourself? No wonder it hurt! lol
A salon is the best way for waxing, especially the first few times and it'll probably reduce the incidence of ingrowns. I still get some hairs on my chest so I self wax and pluck those but for my legs it's much better someone else looks after them. Fortunately there is a place in Sydney specifically for male hair removal, I was using them before I transitioned and was still presenting as male.

Oh yeah I wanted to add getting a good trimmer works at keeping the body hairs super short(the areas I don't shave). Its what I've been doing since I don't have the extra funds for laser yet. I've been on hrt for awhile now so my body hairs are so sparse and fine that just trimming them looks pretty good and feels great, like I can barely even see that its there.

I don't ever plan on using an epilator cause my pain tolerance sucks and having sensitive skin would just make it worst. I also hate ingrowns so much lol.

I might be getting the tria sometime later this year.

Actually I thought I had a low pain tolerance too, and it was painful early on, but as the epilation also very gradually destroys hair follicles too, the hair slowly reduced, on top of HRT... I found my pain tolerance increased slightly (still makes me wince slightly when ever I get started (back of thighs the worst) but it eases as my nervous system adjusts), and also as the fur reduces the discomfort reduces too. So love the hairless and soft feeling - courtesy of HRT and Epilator (Braun Silk Epil) ... Aaahhhhh  :-*  :-*

Was also looking at home laser too....
