So I have an STP i use all the time, so i can go at urinals. Its plastic so it doesn't look real (its a yogart top). I was using urinals at school most of first semester but now I'm scared too. If someones in there I can never go, even if their in a stall. I failed multiple times at target and at school. I spend all day at school trying to work myself up to going to the bathroom, because i know if i chicken out on the urinal i'll be sad the rest of the day. Please help me get over this!!!

First, what is the cause of your fear?

Are you afraid of people noticing it's an STP and asking about it? Or are you afraid you'll miss and make a mess?

Also, remember not all guys are comfortable using urinals. Quite a few cis guys I know prefer peeing in stalls over urinals. Try using your STP in a stall until you get more comfortable, and then try the urinal again.

Having lived most of my life so far as a man, I'll offer up my stand on it. Remember though that I'm MTF, and may therefore be biased, so take it as you will.

Urinals are overrated, if you ask me. There's not enough privacy. Not enough breathing room. And they splash something awful - you end up getting urine on your shoes and pants legs. It's highly unpleasant. But again, I may be biased.
To strive to reach the apex of evolution is folly, for to achieve the pinnacle is to birth a god.

When the Stryker fires, all turn to dust in its wake.

Do you practice using your STP at every opportunity, even when using a loo instead of a urinal. There's even more control and aim required when standing to pee at a loo so if you can get that one sorted out would shouldn't have a problem with using an STP at a urinal. As for the issue of freaking out if there are other guys about - even genetic cis guys can have that issue too, some would rather not pee standing next to a total stranger. I know that some guys would go into a stall to pee but do it standing up at the loo and not close the stall door behind them while they're in there. Best of both worlds!!

School urinals suck, no dividers in the student ones.  Attempt at one with dividers such as a 'Kwik Trip' gas station or somewhere where you know they exist. Meanwhile I have seen a number of people do as Grace suggest, a stall with the door open.

Some people are just pee shy and use a stall irregardless.

i'm not up on all the abbreviations, STP?

i've been going into male bathrooms both before and after transitioning. The hook up that would allow me to urninate standing up was out of my reach financially. That being said, men don't try to look over at the guy at the urinal beside him. If they did, it could be misinterpreted as a gay guy trying to see what the other one has.

Standing urination is a big deal for some of us F to Ms. Its part of the male culture, at least here it is. So is showering in a guy's locker room. We are probable more sensitive to it than cis guys, but some transgender F to Ms feel cheated out of part of their life.

I've thought of running a catherter into the end of my penis, coming out the other end and then into my bladder. The problem there would be clamping the tube off once urination was done, not to mention bladder and kidney infections. If I could have that surgery now, I'd do it in a heartbeat.

I think really the easiest way to solve that is to just use a stall. People won't notice or care, they're just there to do their business and get out of there. However, if you're not interested in that, you might try standing closer to the urinal so people can't really see what's going on there anyways.

You guys should have seen the disgusting urinals at my primary school. It was basically just a long canal in the floor with a drain. It didn't even flush. The custodian simply hosed it down at the end of the day. Only thing that kept me from using the stalls was that the stalls were even more disgusting.

Even at work here a lot of the guys don't use the urinals. They go in the stalls but they pee standing up!!! Splash all over!!!

I will be so happy when I start using the ladies at work.

Urinals can be tricky. But normally guys don't stare eachother down while peeing, as it can be misinterpreted pretty quickly.

Then again, you might just have some shy bladder situation going on. Which is perfectly normal, to be honest. But if you need more practice, go in a stall and use that until you've got a good handle on aiming and such. Maybe then upgrade to urinals in places where there's dividers between them? Some places like malls will have those.

(Also, don't be afraid of guys judging you for using stalls, or peeing sitting down. Some ultra masculine douches will make jokes about it on the internet, but 4/7 of my cisguy friends that I asked say they actually prefer sitting down to pee most of the time. Haha )

Yeah there is an unspoken rule about distance. You never use an adjacent unpartitioned urinal unless you really have to. There is a meme out there about that, lol. I have no idea. I guess guys don't want to see the next guy's equipment? There is fear among many cis guys that they may be perceived as being gay. I don't get how peeing next to someone makes you gay though.

I mean just mind your business, most people mind theirs. Nobody is looking at you especially in a partitioned urinal.

Even though guys grow up with less privacy in the bathroom, there are enough homophobes that taking the urinal next to someone when there are others further away or a glance at the other guy's equipment can get you in a lot of trouble.

Its not unusual for guys to use stalls for urination to avoid such situations.

There is also the subject of not wanting to be "outsized" by the other guy. Everyone's anatomy is different, but being outside the norm, be it smaller or larger than normal, is embarrassing to a lot of guys.

My advice is to practice and keep practicing and to remember you can always just use the stall and still get to use your STP device as honestly Urinals are not really that good as they can be really awkward at times.
