Just over a year ago I left the st. Louis area. I was so worried about what friends and people I work with what think that I left the city I moved down to the Lake of the Ozarks "discover myself". 3 months after moving I started to come out. I cannot believe the overwhelming response and show of support I have received from my friends back in St Louis. Since then I have moved around a bit, and I'm now trying to move back home. I realize now that running away was never the answer I needed. I should have established a new living situation back in St Louis instead of running away. I should have looked into support groups instead of places to run. I wish I knew then what I know now.

Don't be harsh on yourself for what you thought you should have done. At the time, it probably looked like the best choice. I'm glad you are going home to support.
