How did you find your endo and what did they require to start you on hrt? Also if anyone knows any good endos in the LA area please give me their name.

Hi Ginny, Welcome to Susnan's. Often your primary care doctor can refer you to an Endo which would be one way to find them. If you have insurance you could generally search there database pf doctor's too and find out which ones prescribe cross hormone therapy. Often you need a letter from a therapist approving HRT for you and gain that through therapy unless you go the informed consent route. Good Luck

Thanks for the info, I went to my primary care doctor for the first time last week. It was a truly horrible experience the staff treated me poorly and he spoke very poor english so communication was very hard. In the end he did not refer me to an endo or a therapist, he just told me to find one myself. I'm not really sure what to from here because i have been healthy my entire life so i never needed to visit doctors and I'm not out to my parents yet so i can't ask their for help, and my insurance is so confusing i even question whether I'm insured or not at times.

My gender therapist called an endo for me. The doctor's office required that an appointment for hrt be set up by a therapist on behalf of a patient.

Ginny, you might consider the LA LGBT center health care option.  They have transgender health care, and can prescribe hormone therapy.  http://www.lalgbtcenter.org/transgender_people

Good luck with your journey, young lady.

Thanks for the info about the la lgbt center, i was avoiding them due to terrible online reviews but if i continue to be unable to find help they might be a good place to check out.
