I know this is a touchy topic, pun intended, but I have to ask. I have fairly muscular hands, they're not big, nobby though. I was just wondering if hrt reduces muscle in the hands too? If anyone noticed their hands getting more slender? Also, does the skin on the hands get softer? I do work with my hands so I'm not too hopefull. Although, even before now I was longing to leave my line of work. But that's another topic. Any insights are welcome!

The only real changes I have noticed in my hands is the skin texture and some of the pores closing up. They don't appear to be different in size, but I never did have a lot of muscle either so take it for what it is worth.

My hands used to be a lot more muscular... They have shrunk considerably after 10 months on full dosage HRT ;D They never were really big thankfully but I also used to work a lot with my hands and they were very rough as well.... Of course I dont do that kind of work anymore... My ring size has shrunk and my fingers are slender and the skin has softened considerably... They are the same size as (but younger in appeareance) as my Moms now 8)

The skin seems thinner on the back of my hands, which makes the tendons and veins more visible. I'm in my 50's, so you would expect that I guess.

What really surprises me is how much smaller my wrists got. Better with bracelets. :)

Wow! Y'all don't know how happy that makes me! Reasonable, attainable hopes for the future are such a boone to me at this juncture.

Skin softens,  the muscle that is on the outside of my hands has become much smaller making my hands appear more slender.
Even so, I am a beefy looking chick.. look like an athlete.. which is ok ..
People don't notice things as much as you may think.. its how you present and its all about transition.. which is really a transformation of mind, body and soul.. to be who we are.

Thanks Dodie, that's an important way of thinking that I must strive for. Also, you don't look beefy to me. For me this is all about me wanting to be a good person, that's my main driver and motivator. And I do look at the hands of cis women who work with their hands, and that helps. I was watching Martha Stewart when I made the origional post and her hands show some serious signs of work. Cis female athletes are another good example for me as I do enjoy exercise. I just wasn't sure if they would femminize or not, it is hard to tell in photos as people of any stripe tend not to put their hands in front of them.

Either way I'm moving ahead because I was just never happy the other way. This doesn't have to "work" it just is and I will accept any result. But my vain side would sure like to be beautiful!

One thing I have learned is no woman is happy with their looks.. totally ever.. and women come in so many shapes and sizes.  I am only 5-6 but have a super long back and short legs.. like a 29 length.. then my shoulders are 18" wide.. were more likely 24" when I was a body builder.
I will need pretty big boobs because I am also thick.. my rib area.. so I have to wear clothes that flatter and hide certain aspects of my figure.
I just like being free of wanting to be me but on the other side of the glass panel.  Its so amazing but still, I have a lot of stress and go to therapy twice a month.
So good luck on your journey.. and try to enjoy the ride.. along with all the ups and downs.. its not easy.. but you can do it.

You're right you know. The first woman I looked up to was Mollie Sugden as Mrs. Slocumb on Are You Being Served? She was such a different kind of woman in every way. Yet she was so strong and fierce, proud of who she was. I was a devotee'of that show. My Mom is an 1970's femminist, she would hate me if I fell prey to the beauty industry's body shaming!

Longer nails help to make your fingers look more slender.

My hands definitely *look* smaller... don't know if they are, but I'll take it. Also, my wrists have absolutely gotten smaller (I had bracelets that didn't fit and now are a bit loose), which oddly enough makes the overall ratio look more feminine.

Yep my wrists have become much smaller too. My Nike fuel just flops around now. I stopped wearing it.
