It's April so it's spring and like always the weather is more or less unpredictable.

I've come to realize that I enjoy driving a truck more than I thought I would. I'm going to buy my own someday. And I may just give up my pursuit of becoming a VFX artist. As much as I love the graphics work I do, there are too many artists out there, not enough jobs. I may be able to start my own trucking business eventually.

It's only recently that I gave up my truck licence and I have to admit I did enjoy driving trucks.  Having a truck license was really useful as a woman because whenever I wanted to move anything I'd hire a truck for the day and do it myself.  Sometimes I'd get funny looks, but otherwise it was all good.
Being a mechanic before my awakening heavy traffic licences were essential and sometimes I would get roped into hauling shingle away from a docked barge to some depot or another.  Hauling shingle requires careful driving and braking or else you could end up with the whole load in the cab with you which would really ruin your day.  The truck I used to drive was an old thing with a big Perkins engine and I really liked it even if nobody else did that much.

My favorite truck I've driven is still the Kenworth T-680. It was black and a 13 speed. This freightliner has a big sleeper, it's got great visibility up front and backing and loading is a breeze. But the dashboard is not driver friendly or intuitive like the Kenworth.

I hate every time I get on Tumblr and I see someone refer to transgender adult men as "trans boys." It's just so infantilizing and demeaning. I've also never heard of a grown ass man calling himself a boy unless it's like "I went out with my boys last night" or something. The only time I've been referred to as a boy in an adult context is I have one friend who refers to all males as boys, but she's little and cute so it's allowed.

Yes that's the extent of my ranting for today. I actually have a ton of work and much bigger problems than this but whining about tumblr is a good distraction.

Last week Sweetie woke me up about two, three AM. Sweetie is terrified of spiders. She was freaked out over a spider sitting on a piece of paper in the wastebasket next to the toilet. Typically spiders don't bother me.THIS WAS THE BIGGEST WOLF SPIDER I'VE EVER SEEN! I nearly jumped out of my skin! Took care of it, but...

I am badly out of shape, just going up on a neighbor's garage roof to cut away a big downed limb before it did any real damage wore me out. Plus my ankle feels a little wonky now too, but not too bad.
