Found out my doctor retired no notice, Just office closed building for rent I am upset. Were will I find a new doctor that will help me with my medication my blood work I do not really want to try on my own but . The doctor just did all my labs two weeks ago and told me were every thing is at he did say things look good but he never said he was going to retire or close his office.  Maybe I should just go on line and order my medication and then try hunt for a new doctor it will be hard I live in the country in a little town  :'( Any help would be great thanks  :( :(

In 2011 when I first saw a gender therapist (the only one in the province) who retired 2 months after I began seeing him.  At this point they had no replacement for him or any idea when they might which needless to say made me a little distraught.  I packed up the few belongings I had and spent the next 9 months hitch hiking with my dog.  When I returned home I was quite grateful to discover that they had found him a suitable replacement.  I'm not sure where you are or what your healthcare system is like but what are the foreseeable hurdles you may face is acquiring a new doctor?

Thank you Codia for the message I am in the united states in the country in Illinois a very small town my doctor was very nice and understanding the local hosp is over 50 miles from me and when I first went there looking for a doctor thy treated me badly and would not give any input But when I talked to my doctor he was understanding and helped me he did all my labs two weeks ago and every thing was in good shape I am close to a b cup and my skin is getting soft hormone levels are doing OK still have to bring estro up more some more and bring testro down more But he said it will and to keep taking my medication But he never said he was retiring or closing his office. There is another doctor but he thinks we are all sick and will not help

My first primary care physician that prescribed hormones for me suddenly left from her practice in Missouri to her hometown in Montana.  I just got a letter.  I was just like you: quite upset and hurt.  I felt like I was left out in the cold.  In my case, I facebook searched until I found her, then friended her and asked her what Dr. she would recommend to take over my care.  She actually replied, explained why she had to leave, and referred me to the Dr. I have been with ever since.  I am 35 miles from my current doctor (I live in the country, too), but it is worth every minute of the drive to see her.

Don't give up.  Go, seek, and find a new Doc.  There are plenty out there!
Some people say I'm apathetic, but I don't care.
