So...

Endo went well. Checked all the normal stuff and this is what I get to look forward to in the next three months:

1. Blood Tests - To check for Celiac's (random!!! I think she checks everyone?) and Hormone levels (I have Turner's Syndrome, which can wreak havock with hormones, as we are all aware), for a baseline.

2. Ultrasounds - Thyroid check (everyone knows how FAST I lose weight... dangerously so! good idea to check) and Reproductive organs (again, for Turner's, possibly undecended gonad/testes).

3. Urology - I only have 1 kidney, so gotta make sure it's working properly. Only ever had one, and I've been ok so far so pretty sure it's all good.

4. Opthamologist - Legally blind in one eye, so she wants to check for something I can't remember the name of...

5. Psych eval - She's not comfortable handing out hormones to anyone before the one year mark, or without the psych, so she's recommending me to a psych I know of already through the local FTM community.

The good news is, she is willing to follow my case and work with me on all these things. Yay! Means I'm about a half year of so away from getting on T.

That's awesome! Only half a year away! That's roughly where I am right now it seems, so we can count down together.  ;)

I wish you the best of luck with all of your medical appointments, and I'm sure the time will fly by once you're looking back on it! Congrats!

Lorenz,

It sounds like you have a very thorough Endo.  Good to hear that!  I think it is great that you are comfortable with the idea of making sure things are safe for you to start hormones, rather than getting frustrated and buying off the web.  Plus, with your health history, sounds like it is a good opportunity to get things checked out, anyway.

Congrats on your first step!
