Forgetting that you're wearing a binder?

Do you guys forget that you're wearing a binder sometimes and act like all you have is a normal chest?

I feel like I sometimes need to remind myself that my chest isn't really that flat and I shouldn't really want around with a puffed up chest (because I find myself doing that a lot). My roommate once told me that the other person we know that wears a binder actively tried to hide their chest while I "show it off."

Am I the only person that seems to be doing this?

I wouldn't say you're the only one. I have really good posture thanks to my old man always telling me to stand up straight. Even when I wore a binder I stood straight which put a lot of pressure on my shoulders.

I know a lot of folks who bind tend to hunch a little in order to hide their chests. I just wasn't one of them. I didn't puff my chest out, but I did walk tall.

I definitely experienced what you're describing when I wore a binder. I had a large chest so the fact that it was significantly flattened by my binder was amazing to me and I was more confident, walked with my head held high. Also, I would get home and undress and then remember I was wearing a binder. If you feel good in the binder and like how you look, enjoy it.

On funny note, something that has happened to me after top surgery was what I call "phantom bra syndrome". Because of the scars from the surgery there are times when my chest feels tight across the scars giving me the feeling that I have a bra on. Also, I generally wear an under armor shirt under my t-shirts and one of then is a little large and the seam on the shoulder creeps down my arm giving me the feeling that my bra strap has fallen down.

I WISH I could forget I'm wearing one.  I haven't found one comfortable enough, or effective enough yet.  I've got my new gcb2 now, though.  As soon as everyone clears out of the house tomorrow, I'm giving it a try. I've got high hopes.  (How to explain the newly flat chest will be another challenge.  Being FTM incognito sucks)

I'm like that a lot too. My partner needs to remind me to take it off sometimes since I never notice if I'm wearing it.
