Dodie

Hey Dudes,
Well, you most likely do not know me since I post in MTF forums but wanted to say hi and just chat a bit.
Also going to share with you my photobucket for fun.. I transitioned in 13 months and I am 56.
Here it is:  <iframe width="480" height="360" src="http://s1382.photobucket.com/user/asbbrinleepilot32659/embed/slideshow/"></iframe>

Anyway, I am typical, knew from early age did the dude thing almost transitioned when 30 but had a family so stopped and raised the kids.. been married 32 years and divorcing but best friends with my wife we still love each other totally .
Like dudes now think i always did but just did not have the right package for me to be with them.

So the funny thing about transition is that as a dude I never liked dressing up.. wore t shirts jeans or shorts and tennis shoes all the time.
Now that I am full time as a female... the biggest surprise to me has been how much work it is..
Sure make up is getting easier and hair but I really could toss the bra and do when I get home and now that I feel healed and normal its like what was the big deal in the first place.
So the big deal was that I was female on the inside all my life and even though its harder to be a chick... I love it and can deal with it.
When I started my transition my wife would say guys have it made and just could not understand why I would give up being male.
I really did not understand that totally until I went full time.
Anyway I wish you all so much luck and happiness in your journeys and also great success. Regardless if we are FTM or MTF I think we are special humans and If we look at the bright side of transition it can make us feel blessed..
For one thing life sure does not get boring... LOL

Funny thing, I've experienced quite the same thing re: dressing up. I used to hate it when living as a woman, but now I enjoy it. NOt much opportunity since New Mexicans are VERY casual.

the contrast between pre-transition and now is mind blowing. thanks for showing that it's never too late to be who you are and to do what makes you happy! :)

Hi Dodie!
You look awesome and what a transition! I am so happy for you that at 56 you were able to be the person on the outside you were on the inside. I'm transitioning at 45 and wow, its like being set free. I was never one for dressing up although I tried to be the woman I was on the outside. Never cared for it. I hear you about the bra! I've had top surgery and love not needing one.

Congrats on your transition!

Being free is amazing
For me a new beginning.
It's funny but I will tell people I wish I were born a dude!
But I was born female on the inside.
I do miss that fast out the door shower and clothing
Ugh, too many choices

I personally never lived that "female" life, from an age that I could choose my own clothing, I would wear baggy pants, shorts, Tshirts-all male clothes. The only thing that changed is that I started to wear nothing but boxers and a plan T. It's my "chill mode" after work, when I'm at home playing video games, that's all you'll find me in. I only put pants on when strangers come home- sometimes I'll step outside with a T and boxers, I really don't care if ppl saw me in my underwear.

I should also mention that I'm only 20 years old, so the experience might be a lil different than those who transitioned way later in life.

Funny, one of my good friends recently said "I'm hope I'm gay again in the next life" (Reincarnation wise).
I responded with basically with "I don't care what I am as long as I don't have to go through this ->-bleeped-<- again".
I don't care if I am born male or female, I just wish to be cis.

I did always hate wearing girl clothes unless I was specifically playing dress up (I've always loved costumes). I still spent a good portion of my childhood wearing girl clothes, two older sisters to provide hand me downs. I did allow myself to play around with clothes more during high school. Skirts were a short phase and baggy boys clothes were my thing. Until graduated, came out for real and started binding, somehow then my baggy clothes made me pass less and I tighter clothes are here to stay.
I play Brad Majors in a Rocky Horror cast and my mom was taken a back when I told her I'd have to wear a corset, black panties, fishnets and high heels. I figure I'd do it if I were cis, plus I get to run around in my underwear. :)

Glad to see you're taking your own path now and looking good to boot. Congrats!
