how many hours of electrolysis does it take to do upper lip

I have gone through about 5 hours of electro so far. I am getting an early start on the upper lip and have had about 1.5 hours of electro on it. I would like to know how much time it usually takes people to complete the upper lip area.

It depends a lot on how much hair you have on your upper lip.  If the hair is thick and deeply rooted it will take more time to get rid of it.  I was lucky, - one zap was all it took to get rid of each hair follicle for good and not being especially hairy meant that I didn't need all that many sessions.

She uses the blend method and has to turn the machine up really high for my upper lip. I believe she she causes the lights in town to dim every time she zaps a hair on my upper lip

Also depends on your rate of regrowth. Some people, when electro kills a hair follical, another one pops up in an adjacent pore using it's blood supply. Apparently Yours Truly is one of those people. So I don't think I'll be done until every pore on my face is zapped. I've been working on my upper lip since September, and still have about 20 minutes of zapping to do each week.

Probably why with even laser on my face the upper lip doesn't look improved very much and why all of sudden a lot of grey hairs I didn't realize I had on my face popped up too. It's why I'm switching to electro now to deal with each of them.

So when I first started removing my beard i went to several electrolysis centers that are familiar with trans patients.

Both recommended starting with laser first to reduce the amount of hair.   Most of my facial hair was dark at the time.

Anyway the place I chose, offers both laser and electrolysis and has a large transgender client base.

Since May 2014, I've had 9 laser sessions full face and neck (1 every 4 weeks) and in between the full face sessions I've had my upper lip and chin done (now at 8 sessions for that).

If I let the facial hair grow it's now more gray than dark .   On my neck there is almost nothing but gray hairs left.   So, I started electrolysis last month.

After 2 one hour sessions (only half of each session was spent on my upper lip).  My electrologyst feels that my upper lip will have been fully cleared with another 20 minutes or so.  Please don't get me wrong, this is only for the initial clearing.  Then there will be more for regrowth (as you know hair grows in cycles).

YMMV, but if your hair is dark then I might suggest that you could try laser first.

Sabrina, at E3000, told me I am pretty typical. My facial hair is very thin now but still not done after 10 sessions. She said her fastest customer (full face) was younger, had a very hairy face, but took just two sessions because the facial hair was all growing so much at the same time.

I'm also like suzi in that I have lots of regrowth but I think we're finally approaching the end of that tunnel.
