I've been having my T shots done at the pharmacy, which was ok when I was on Nebido, as I only had to go there once every three months, but my doctor just switched me to Deposteron and now I'd have to go there once every three weeks, which would be a bit of a nuisance.

I know most guys self inject, but how does one learn to do it? Is my doctor supposed to teach me?

Thanks!

Your doctor should teach you and there's also tons of videos online from both medical professionals and other transguys! Probably some from bodybuilders too.

Your doctor/nurse can definitely teach you. There isn't really much to it. You just follow the same steps each time, it becomes a ritual. I got lucky in that I was able to self inject right out of the gate since I already knew how. They just had me do it the first time in the office and then sent me on my way with a prescription. The first time was the hardest for me as I had to get over the mental block of putting a needle into my skin but since then it's been easy. I know a lot of guys have a harder time though if they are needle phobic. I take a weekly injection so there was/is no way I'd ever want to do it any other way. Way too inconvenient.

The first time is the hardest, as we all have that bit of self-doubt lingering inside.  You can just go do it at your doctors, for the first time, so he/she can walk you through the steps.  Or perhaps the pharmacy where you have been getting the injections done, can walk you through it as well.  Like Dex said, it does become a ritual and after a while, there is not much thinking when it comes down to it.  And if you are nervous about doing it alone, even after being showed, I am sure you could continue to go to the pharmacy for as long as you need to become more comfortable with the process.  Since it is something that you will have to deal with for the rest of your life, it is important to take the time you need to get acquainted and comfortable with doing the injection yourself.

I did the first injection at the doctor's office and never looked back since then.  I did intra-muscular injections every two weeks, for years before switching to subcutaneous injections, on a weekly basis.

Thanks guys! I'll make sure to ask him on my next appointment.

Awesome! Let us know how it turns out. And don't hesitate to ask your doctor any and all questions you may have when you see him!

My endo's assistant showed me how to do my shot, and I also found these 2 videos helpful. They do things a bit differently, so my routine is a combination of all 3 sources.

I inject weekly, and after 27 shots, it's no big deal.
