The little F has proven to be somewhat more elusive for me, as the letter that I sent in along with my other documents and passport application was apparently not good enough, despite my using a template from the travel.gov website to describe what was needed to my doctors assistant.

So now I have to get another letter done and mailed to me, since my endo lives 2 hrs away. I then hVe to send that in to the agency, and hopefully at that point they will send me a passport.

It's super annoying.  Thanks for deciding to keep up with me. I will probably have mildly amusing things to say at some point! Lol.

I will be keeping on eye on your threads as well, since your date is sooner than mine and I'm eager to read as many SRS accounts as possible from Chet girls.

I'll post how the psychological evaluation goes on Friday.

I'm sure you'll have lot's of fun, interesting and amusing things to say :) Yes my date is 3 weeks today and I am told to forget about it because my excitement has driven people crazy  ;D I've concluded that all the excitement of travelling which is my favourite hobby and going to Bangkok which is one of my favourite cities is hiding the nerves that will likely strike once I'm sat with Chett and he's telling me what is going to happen but we'll see in a couple of weeks I guess :)

Good luck with the Passport and the appointment, I'll be rooting for you

Hugs

The use of Dr Chetts local Psyche to me always seemed like a money making exercise., I know he's in this to make money and I don't begrudge him that but the little things like overpriced Psyches just don't sit well with me. 9500 bht for someone that doesn't know you to sign a letter when they cannot possibly be sure you're ready in the few minutes they chat to you was to me too much so I saw a Sydney Psyche for my 2nd letter and he never charged me. I would advise getting all letters done before heading to Bangkok as once you're there any proble,s will put the surgery in doubt.
So few words, but that's one of the most positive things I can recall reading about a medical professional. When I started all this I had such fears about how badly people are treated it seriously delayed me seeking help.

You are probably going to have to see a Thai shrink anyway. Mine spent an hour with me, going through my trans history and then reviewing the letter from my specialist. The cost of the entire consultation, including the certification for surgery was $25. Suporn doesn't make an extra charge but then I'm told his psych spoke very little English. Chets Psych is almost inevitably going to pass you, particularly if you have a referral from a doctor (only one is necessary as you have to see a Thai psych anyway).  However if you go with just one referral he  charges around $300 for his psych to provide you with a certificate. It's almost all profit for Chet, but in the scheme of things it's not a lot extra to pay. Remember Chet isn't going to schedule your surgery if he believes that you may not be able to gain the Thai certificate to go ahead.

I'm super pissed today. Just Monday I finally got my letter from my therapist, and I quickly faxed that to Dr. Rumer's office along with my letter from my doctor.  They're telling me I need a second letter. From some reason I missed the part in WPATH where it says one letter from a MD "therapist/psychiatrist" and another letter from a licensed therapist. I took the MD as a doctor.

So now my therapist and I are pissed. Mostly me, but she feels my anger. Another gate keeper!  My therapist now wants to speak with Rumer.

Does anyone know exactly why they must have 2 letters? A second opinion??? Really.
I find it  absurd especially when a lot of us have already go through the links legally and physically.  What more proof do you need to validate me living in my own truth?  You want to help an underserved community stop with the bull->-bleeped-<-.

Yeah, that's how it is with chet. A Phd Psychologist or psychiatrist, plus a letter from a therapist. The whole gatekeeper thing is really annoying, but that's how it is. It's not about helping an undeserved community, so much as it is lining everyone's pockets.

Anyways, I did my evaluation with the psychologist today. She just interviewed me about basic things and gave me a 300 question test. The False, slightly agree, mostly agree, totally agree kind. Half of them were obviously meant to weed out crazy people.

It seems like a formality tbh...It went well though :)

Glad things went well for you Sarah, Odd way to evaluate someones suitability for surgery but as long as you've got your letter that's all that matters :)
