Beth Israel LGBT Clinic and Informed Consent

Well, ImagineKate mentioned going to Beth Israel LGBT clinic  (http://www.wehealny.org/services/lgbt_health_services/ ) so I decided to look into it and try to officially start HRT.

It was simple and easy. I used their online appointment system (http://www.zocdoc.com/hospitals/bimg ) and made an appointment for two weeks away originally. ImagineKate recommended Zil Goldstein and I do too. She isn't a doctor but a Nurse Practitioner.
I went yesterday. Talked to the Zil about HRT. We went over my medical history and that was pretty much it. I signed the "Informed Consent" forms and walked out with two prescriptions. She sent the prescriptions straight to my pharmacy and I picked them up this morning.

Zil is TG and I think the person who was taking my vitals is too. Both were very nice. Zil asked what my preferred pronouns were and what name I wanted to be called. Everything was all very nice and respectful.

Congrats   ImagineKate has had mostly positive experience from what she told me. (We've met for lunch one day and talked about it.) I remember she was mis-gendered once by accident, but the care she had been getting is good. I use Callen-Lorde and there is a wait to get in the program, but once in it's awesome as well. They even helped with my legal gender and name changes in NJ.
