Okay so, as most of you who know me (or not) I live with my parents and they recently found out I am transitioning.  It took a day or so for my dad to accept it but my mother immediately accepted it as she said she always wanted a daughter anyways.  Anyways, now my Dad asked me to be full time female if I feel comfortable doing so, so he can get used to this.  So I began becoming full time female.

I already had my name change done through the courts and currently in process of getting my driver license changed.  I will still have my gender marker marked as male on my driver's license because my doctor won't sign off on gender marker change for at least a couple more months.

I will be traveling in April and have already purchased the tickets under my old name.  I am wondering, if anyone has had issues with this, will TSA grumble too much?  If so, how hard would it be to get the airlines to change my name on my plane ticket, with my court order paper work and new license to reflect my new name?  Also, if I decide to WAIT to put off my driver's license change until after I travel to make this MUCH easier, I will still have the issue if I look like a woman, and my photo looks like a guy?  I could try to get an updated photo with my current name, but... idk what would be the BEST route... anyone have similar situations and if so what worked?

BTW, this is all in the united states and airlines is southwest.

Thanks!!

Love,

The name on the ticket must match the name on the id.
Since you've changed your name, you will need to bring proof of the name change.

The best thing to do since you have doubts is to ask the airline what their procedure is when dealing with name changes.
