Does anyone here actually like going to electro?

I now have 4 hours of electro over 3 weeks (need to do more of the 2 hour sessions). This weird, but I actually kind of like going to electro, I almost get kind of a rush from the pain (yesterday was upper lip day) and is one of the few times where I can have girl talk. It is funny that the time I get a hot electrified needle stuck and in my face has become the most enjoyable part of my week. It is a little painful, but it feels good to start taking off the "man shell." Maybe I need more hobbies.

I'm at about 95 hours of mostly three hour sessions (at $450 a pop) using multi probe galvanic with maybe 30 hours to go.

I have a love/hate relationship with electrolysis. I hate the pain (although I can tolerate it well most of the time), I hate the $$$, I hate the time it is taking, I hate not being able shave for a couple of days either side and looking like god knows what the next day. But I do love that it is getting rid of the beard and that it will be gone eventually, I love being able to chat with my electrolysist for a few hours, we get along really well. I wouldn't do it if I didn't have to but I'm glad it's there because I do need it.

I hate the procedure but I love my electrologist. She is funny and we have good conversations.

I kind of miss her now that I'm doing laser but when I'm done with the laser I'll be back to see her again.

I don't like the pain from laser but I like that it's over quickly and clears my full face.

I hate electrolysis with a passion. It restricts my life so much having to grow facial hair out, I hate the pain and how long it takes. My electrolysist is a lovely woman and I really enjoy talking to her but other than that I can't wait for the day when it's finally done.

So, not a fan :D

It wasn't bad at the start. My electrologist is a sweet lady, though it's a trek to get to her place.

It's been a year now, of 2 hours a week and we're still at it. I've been having her do one side and another electro, closer but also more expensive, to do the other side. So 4 hours a week and we still have a long way to go.

Now it's just a drag on my time, my bank account, and my general well being.

I wouldn't say I like actually having it done but I don't mind it, I don't find the pain too bad. I'm haven't started RLE yet and I'm awaiting my first appointment a the GIC which is at the end of this month (yay!) so at times, having electrolysis seems like the only progress I'm making in my transition (if that makes sense) so I do like that, having to wait a month between appointments due to the Christmas period was horrible.

I don't like the procedure, but I like the routine. I go weekly on Saturdays at 11 to a place that's about a 30 min drive. On the way out there I listen to the last half of Wait Wait... Don't Tell Me! on NPR.  Afterwards, I slow down the way back by stopping at Wendy's and eat lunch in my car while waiting in line for a car wash so I can listen to the entirety of Ask Me Another.

The two technicians I go to are fantastic. I do 1.5 hours a week and I am about 30 hours in and have 100 to go (I estimate). The pain is tolerable but hurts. I too dislike growing my beard.

I like visiting the pain monster. We always have a fun time.

Call me strange but I also like banging my head against a brick wall and hammering nails into my hands.
So long and thanks for all the fish

I look forward to it, but when she starts zapping me, I realize I may have been mistaken. Most of it's fine, but near the ear and upper lip it brings me to tears every time.

Oh yes.  All of this.  Exactly.

Seriously, will anyone actually miss having red hot needles stuck in their skin when their face is finally cleared of hair?
Definitely a necessary evil and I'm just looking forward to the day when it's finally all over.
Not to mention all the time + expense + skin damage + having to grow a beard.

Yes, I enjoy chatting to my electrologists but that's about the only positive thing I can say.

I just completed hour 60 last Thursday, right now my routine is on the way home from work twice a week for an hour each time.  I'm with Grace in that it's a love/hate thing.  I *hate* having to let it grow out...  I hate the way my face feels, I hate when I touch it when I'm not thinking about it and it feels like sandpaper.  On the other hand, I love how my face is getting clearer with each session.  I'm finally to the point where I can see real progress happening and that's very encouraging!

The pain has just become part of the routine for me, it's just part of it and mostly tolerable.  Some I don't even feel and some about send me off the table.  I'll be glad when I can just go to doing maintenance though....  Someday!

I merely walk to the spare bedroom where I turn on some music. Mind you it cant be the radio because the RF from the machine will mess with the radio. I sit in my comfy chair in from of my mirror and zap away. Thankfully after close to two years I am down to 10 minutes a day.

the cost and growing out hair is the worst part for me. I'm paying $170 for two hours so my bank account is being rapidly depleted by therapy and electro.
