About to crap my pants

so I've told all my family and friends about me. Now it's time to show them. I've been dressing in private really for about 8 months. I just put on my best look and as soon as I finish writing this.. I'm walking out of my room and going to see my father, uncle and brother in law for the first time like this. I'm expected to cook tonight.. our every thursday burrito night. I hope they accept me and don't laugh too much. I'm pretty open. But being laughed at is my number one fear. YYou can taunt me. Call me names. Probly break my nose.. I can take it. But plz plz plz. Rotika you do look great and should knock their socks off.  Please remember that sometimes people will laugh because of their own inadequacies, insecurity or even fear.  I had an old acquaintance bust out laughing when I wore a flowered hat to a dance.  I stood calmly, fixed him with a condescending glare and simply asked if he was OK.  He turned beet red and shut up.  I  have also had a groups of teens annoy me with snickers and laughs but I have a monster big laugh and used to laugh them off.  Their reality and lack of knowledge is not a reflection of who we are, our reality or self worth. 

I hope you are completely proud of yourself for standing tall.

OMG I really wasn't expecting so many replies and advice. Thank you all! So i was about scared out of my mind.. My uncle came to my door and asked if I was coming out to start cooking.. I said I'd be out in a minute (was putting the finishing touches on my makeup). I stood in the bedroom with my wifey for almost an hour lol.. shaking and trying to just walk out the door. I finaly did though. Right after I posted here. I walked out into the kitchen. All 3 men sitting at the table.. My father and brother in law noticed me right off the bat and started talking to me. Talking about nothing out of the ordinary. My unclle started chiming in. And when he looked at me. He didn't even skip a beat. It was like I was the only one in the room that knew I was all dolled up. idk.. It wasn't bad. But it also didn't feel good. It was kind've awkward. They all felt the same way I know it. But they wanted to accept me. They tried really hard. In the end. No one except my bother in law said anything.. and all he did was give me a compliment. He said "Yunno Paul, you're probly the hottest girl I've seen in ohio sofar".. I didn't really know how to take it. Maybe sarcasm? I'd like to think he was being honest. But as he said it, my uncle walked out of the room. I could tell that was about as far as he could go in the same room with me. My father was his normal self. Didn't even mention it. Didn't seem to care. Just needed time to adjust. Which I understand. Everyone will.

All in all. A successful evening. Burritos were good. The beer is gone. And no one told me they hated me. I'm happy
