Is it ok to consider myself female even if I opt not to transition?

I identify as female, but hair and stuff is all I see wanting to do in the long term.I look naturally feminine, but after thinking about it I'm not at all set on any HRT or surgeries in the future.

Your gender is between your ears, not your legs.   If you have a female brain, you will always have a female brain.  What you do or do not do to your body is up to you, and you alone.

I have always been transgender, but I did not feel it necessary to transition until I was 43.  Keep in mind that GD can be progressive, and your needs today may be different from your needs in the future.

Hugs,
Jill

As far as surgeries and hair removal go, all of that is independent of your gender. If you're a woman, you're a woman. Surgeries, procedures, HRT, or looks don't make you a woman.

That being said, it's optimistic to expect people to get your pronouns right if you aren't at least making an effort to look female in some way.
Have you read my short story The Eve of Triumph?

Makenzie there are many reasons why we would not fully transition, it's of personal choice or because of the situation or environment we find ourselves in. The decision too or not too does not change who we are, often we have to manage our lives in the best way we can. I have but know I am at the end of the pretence road now!

Regardless of how far you go in your life, you are no less a woman in our eyes...

Makenzie,

Sure you can regard yourself as whatever gender you want to be. If you want to be female you do not need surgery or hormones.

However what society thinks is completely something else and without even trying to look like what society deems to be female you won't be regarded as one.

But if you can live with that then you have your answer.

You can consider yourself anything you want without ever transitioning. Now what the rest of the world sees you as, that's a totally different story.
