I think most predictions of the future will come to pass in 25 to 50 years max.
25 years ago, they predicted plasma and LCD TV, online shopping, 3D, holograms, nanotech, computer the size of a calculator, cars that drive themselves, hoverboards! these things materialized after 25 years of predicting them. I remember seeing a TV from 25 years ago that discussed these.
