...is a little scary, but here we go!
Hi there, everyone, I'm Diana! I'm a 51 year old MTF living in the US who is just beginning her transition. (I know, I'm a bit of a late bloomer.) After years of denial that went so deep I barely even recognized it, I've finally begun my journey to being who I truly am. I've been meeting with a wonderful therapist and have started the slow process of coming out to family & friends. I'm looking forward to HRT, but I realize that I have a ways to go before I can start. (Hair removal, a safer workplace to transition in, among other things.) I have a wonderful wife and kids who are behind me all the way, along with the few friends who already know. Even with the support, there are good days and bad days, days full of confidence and days full of doubt. I'll have tons of questions down the road (and who better to ask than all of you!), but for now, I just wanted to say hi.

Thank you so much for the best wishes! It's SO wonderful to know that there are more sisters out there in their fifties! The net is full of twenty-somethings who are worried that they didn't transition fast enough, so it's encouraging to hear from the more *cough* "mature" ladies. I'm looking forward to posting more and getting to know all of you. Just don't be surprised if it takes me a little while to speak up. I'm a shy girl, sometimes.  ;)
