Hola.
I was wondering if anyone can recommend some good films about transsexualism? Documentaries, fictions etc. I'm particularly interested in seeing things that don't focus on "late transitioner" narratives

Seen...very sad though

I should point out, I'm interested in more recent films, I've seen a lot of older ones

Predestination is one I watched recently, featuring an intersex, FTM main character. It's not really about transsexualism so much as it is a use of transsexualism as characterisation and minor conflict, but I thought I'd throw it out there.  :)

About Earlier transition that's the one that I can think of right now:

Ma vie en rose: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0119590/?ref_=nv_sr_1

I know that's not what you are particulary afer, but I think the following ones are very good late transitioner films:

Prodigal Sons : http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1295068/

She's a Boy I knew : http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1095496/?ref_=tt_rec_tt

Those two were the most influential to me, back in the days when I was looking for films with trans references.

I find transexual prortraits in films like "Priscilla" "Transamerica" or to be more stereotyped.

Hugs!

If you haven't seen them, try "Camp" and "Gun Hill Road"

I really enjoyed Hit and Miss... A lot of people complained about Chloe Sevigny(sp?) playing a trans person. That just made me laugh. First of all, how do you know she isn't trans, second of all get over it... Roles are played by people who can act the part well... It's not a documentary lol. She also (probably) isn't an assassin in real life... Did assassins complain that she wasn't really an assassin so shouldn't play one? No. Cause everyone knows that assassins are basically ninjas, and ninjas don't show up on camera.
