Exactly what surgeries should I get if I want to look more feminine?

But also want to still be able to pass as (a) male at will, that is.

Indeed, any thoughts on this? After all, it appears that I myself have a strong desire to sometimes wear women's clothing but (unfortunately) without much of a desire to actually identify as a female (but, interestingly enough, with a lot of cross-dreaming).

Anyway, any thoughts on this?

You never pass at will. People see what they see in you, and they react accordingly. It isn't your decision to make.

Just by taking estrogen and removing my facial hair I was read as female no matter how I dressed and that is with short hair.  I would walk out of the men's room and people walking in would stop, walk back out and check the sign on the door.

Long story short is you look female or you look male.  I think that if you get surgery to look female then you will have a hard time looking male at will.

Good luck sorting it out.

I think some easy and low-invasive things are: voice training and facial hair removal (unless you have the desire to have a beard later in life ;) ) - those go a long way to improve "passing". I know some also had facial feminization surgery with the target to have an androgynous look, even though they identified as male. So that one can be balanced to put you in the middle. Anything going beyond that - hormone therapy, breast or butt/hip implants, genital or voice surgery, all of those are pretty obvious and would be hard to explain if you present as male - or they are affecting your health in the long run (e.g. hormone therapy and androgen deprivation therapy)
