So that's what I was doing right with my voice

I've been kind of practicing my voice off and on a bit with no real instruction. Most of the time I sound like Micky Mouse combined with a phone sex operator.  Every once in awhile my voice would change and sound like exactly what I wanted, but then I'd lose it and I never knew what I was doing right when that happened. I just followed the Melanie Phillips site for the first time, trying out her tips and I think what she said there about using the bottom of the voice box was that thing that was making it sound right to me. I was trying to make sure I stayed in the top range and it was making it sound strained, but moving to the bottom made it sound more full. It still leaves a lot to be desired, but now when I hear my voice, I have a hard time figuring out which gender I'm hearing. It sounds both male and female to me. Now I just need to spend probably the rest of the year isolating what parts are making it sound masculine and get rid of them while focusing on the parts that make it sound feminine. I'm finally starting to feel like the voice is within my grasp, and with it, the start of a RLE.
