hey, there so i'm mtf and I have a letter i'm going to give to my parents about my transgender problems (I say problems because i'm not in my right body yet) but, interesting enough my little brother whom is 14 saw me writing it, not the words but me writing mum and dad on top. Which took interest to my mum, which caused her to question it, i just shook it off and said it was nothing. Anyone else ever had this, lol.

thanks and yeah life sure is interesting, I'm really considering coming out of the closet (is it called that for transgender people?) and telling them today or on April 20th my birthday, I have the letters in my desk in my room.

I wish you the best on the outcome.

Check out our reference library for maybe a back up supportive information that you could print out.

Keep us in the loop,

I did the same two weeks ago. It took me a whole week and a half to get up the courage to give my mom the note, and I was a nervous wreck for a whole day, while I waited for her reaction.

It went great! even though I was sure she'd react negatively, she said she didn't understand it, but she loves me.

I'm so much happier now that I have my family supporting me, I had my first therapist meeting on friday!

Good luck to you, I'm sure your family will love you no matter who you are. Just be sure to try to explain, if they have questions, and be patient as some family members may take longer than others to accept you (same happened to me with my brother, he still doesn't accept it. but I'm sure eventually it'll pass)

:)

I did the same thing, the letter writing, and my parents were cool with it. I suggest that you stay up late and slip it under their bedroom door and go to sleep so you don't feel nervous!

Best of luck!
