one thing therapist look for is if you are ready for them. hopefully you got the pills by now, but if not (and this is for others who read later too).
When you tslk to them, be confident about it. Dont ask the question "is it a good time to start hormone therapy". they may see this as you are not ready to ho forward and tell you no. rather, say "i can feel i'm ready for hormone therapy! i know it would help alot of my dysphoria issues right now!)
councelors, therapists, and shrinks are supposed to be that little voice in our heads. they help those feelings that seem to help you, and are supposed to weed out the bad or destructive thoughts. if you are sure and the therapist picks up on this, they will see you confident and most likely prescribe them or start the process. do make sure you get you labs done first to make sure there will be no issues:)
i use this tidbit on every dr now, i bring the research with me and almost demade what i want, and the reason i want it.. works almost every time, or i get a good reason not to with an even better alternative! before, i used to ask for it, but uncertain, and they always said "no!"
If the dr says "no" to alot of your ideas with no real reasons, it sounds like they are not interested in your ideals and timeline, then i would suggest to find another dr. This is gonna be a long journey and you only want those interested in your goals too, to be helping you. or you may be wasting time and money.. hope this helps! j
