Ok so I read that the liver metabolizes about 30% of the pill form estradiol.  So if a person takes 2mg then by my calculations that would leave 1.4mg that survives the liver?

Bio-availability from pills is typically, on average, 5% so that only 5% of the estradiol swallowed will make it to the blood. I can PM you the various sources that cite this.

From 2 mg, you get 0.1 mg estradiol, similar to the 0.1 mg patch.
I am not a medical doctor, nor a scientist - opinions expressed by me on the subject of HRT are merely based on my own review of some of the scientific literature over the last decade or so, on anecdotal evidence from women in various discussion forums that I have come across, and my personal experience

On HRT since early 2004
Post-op since late 2005

I take it sublingually to avoid the liver pass.

What is the bioavailability of .6 mg estradiol gel?
