I had neither. I would love to get voice surgery. It's a hangup I have. Everyone says I'm fine, but I still feel self conscious about it. Yeah I think my choice would be voice surgery. There are many women out there you know who are accepted just by their voice.

I'm planing on doing VFS first then FFS. My reason for doing this is that I can afford VFS now but not FFS, so going to get it out of the way so I can spend a year saving for FFS.

I had VFS before FFS but I never had a trachea shave.... If your wanting a trachea shave Id want that done first because there is a chance your voice could change if its not done very carefully... It also depends on what your wanting for VFS and FFS... If your wanting to do the web glottoplasty and a CTA at the same time with Dr Haben in NY he will also do the trachea shave with the CTA...
BUT he advised me against having a CTA before my FFS because I was planning on the face and neck lift.... He was concerned about the scar from the CTA being very visible after the face/neck lift and said I should have that done first and after everything is tightened up he would be able to try to conceal the scar a lot better... If your young and not planning on doing a face and neck lift with FFS I guess it wouldn't matter... Bottom line??? I think it would be best to do FFS first and then do VFS but thats not how I did it LOL I hope thats not too confusing ;)

I am doing VFS and I don't even plan on FFS but I won't rule it out. I would do the VFS first in a heartbeat. A good voice makes you passable. A good face with a bad voice can get you weird looks. I don't think I need a trach shave either.

I chose VFS. I was at a consultation for FFS in fall and basically they said there is no essential need for FFS - I felt more or less the same. So it is more optional, something I want to do maybe - or maybe I dont need it. Its a big surgery and more costly. And I was more annoyed by my voice, which was for years an issue with people asking me about it or misgendering me because of it, so my choice was individual. I guess one has to honestly assess what is bugging oneself the most and maybe which part is mostly messing with the perception of others and then go for that. If your voice is mediocre, but the face has male features, FFS is better, if the face is somewhat allright but whenever you open the mouth people look shocked or nervous, then VFS may be better.

Definitely VFS. While I want FFS, it is something that I may not need depending on how well I respond to hormones. Once I hit the 2 year mark I will know more. For me, my voice is super important and I find that I am stressed whenever I even think about using a female voice. I also have a bad habit of defaulting back to my male voice when I am around friends and family.
