I was in the woman's bathroom at my local grocery store and had turned the handle to lock it. I didn't realize the lock wasn't working as it should be, which is why a latch was placed much higher up. I didn't realize why it was there and originally found it odd that it was. While I was going potty someone pushed against the door to see if it was in use and she quickly discovered I was in their. Nothing was said and she closed it again and just used another stall. Needless to say I was a little embarrassed that it happened. It doesn't look like she had any clue in  regards to me.

Whew! :)

I can relate, Mariah.  I was in the stall at work going and I apparently did not engage the lock all the way when I twisted it.  So, I am sitting there and a lady comes in and goes in the stall next to me and when her do shut firmly mine jarred loose and began to slowly float open (they open outward).  So, I am sitting there with my stall door open finishing my business. LOL  Luckily no one came by my stall while it was open.
Some people say I'm apathetic, but I don't care.

Sounds like one of the moments you want to get done and out as soon as possible because I know I did once I knew that door wasn't locked.

Ms Grace

Having accidentally walked in on someone doing their business because the door wasn't latched properly I can tell you it is just as embarrassing for the person who walks in...!!! Happened when I was about 16. Sooooo embarrassed!!! :icon_redface: :icon_mrgreen:

The only unisex single person bathroom at my work has a faulty latch. You can never tell if it will lock when you lock it. I always knock and listen for a response but have been walked in on several times by other people. It is never fun!

Good point. I kind of got the impression that she was a bit embarrassed in this case too Grace and I hadn't thought about that tell you mentioned it.
